5.0 in Hawaii 50

First, I enjoyed the show. Felt production an casting was superior to many, though not all cop shows. Second, the base interior was a total let down. I can't believe with all of the hype and product placement that Ford has done with the sync, that they missed the opportunity to have it on an almost sure fire hit with 5-0 as part of the title.
I liked the character "Danno", thought he was well written. Don't Hawaiians wear seat belts, though?

Yes, was talking about the cumaro that Steve-o drives.
Figures that a character like that stick-up-the-butt one should drive that pig.
The original Steve McGarret was a lot more cool than the new one.

I miss the giant Mercury Marauder that Steve drove on the old show.

Totally agree 1000%. I used to watch the original show in its day & I think it's better. It's almost like CSI Miami is a closer match to the style of the old show (not saying Horatio is as 'cool' as McGarrett, but his is a strong character). My beef with the new 5.0 is the cinematography just seems so dark, like they're using some kind of odd lens filter. I get none of the bright/sunny feeling with the new 5-0 that the old 5-0 had, or even CSI Miami has.

I do believe GM is one of the sponsors of the show. Been noticing the GM product placement. Have seen 2 identical silver Camaros in their lot, a bunch of "Honolulu Police Department" cars, a black flipped-over Ford SUV, and I think the big Merc hiding under a car cover. Was wondering why the heck Danno was driving a Camaro.
About time that they covered the "Honolulu Police Department" signs on the building - even though the real main police station is only a block away. Also have to laugh at how easily they can get around on Oahu and not hit traffic - psh, yeah right! And the show's local sponsor is - the local Aloha Hyundai/Kia dealer!!!

The first episode had Danno driving a Mustang GT and the second episode had McGarrett driving the Camaro. In episode three I was asking why is Danno driving McGarrett's car? Is the Camaro supposed to be police issue, and not McGarrett's personal car?

I just watch the third show and they get worst every week. Danno talks back to Steve all the time, in the original show Steve would have shot him. He was a no nonsense type of guy and the new Steve just does not have it.

Steve is not the head of the state police like in the old show. This time he is a special investigator under the direction of the govenor and Danny is his police liason, not his subordinate.

The quality of each show has been going downhill in my opinion. I enjoyed the 1st episode but at this point if it got canceled I wouldn't miss it.

There is only one Jack Lord, but I still enjoy the show. While it's a shame there isn't more of a mustang presence, at least there are using American Muscle cars and for that I thank them.
I really think Ford dropped the ball not getting product placement for Hawaii 5freakin'0. Then again, they did produce the greatest pony car of all time, so there is that!
