3.7L mustang help!

i own a 2012 3.7L v6 mustang and i was planning on boosting it. I am still debating on either a pro-charger or a turbo kit, anybody know some of the best bang for your buck ones? also would it be worth putting the extra money into the car. and also lol... i feel like i ask too many questions, but how much horsepower and torque could i make from either application? thanks!

If I was to boost mine I would go with a supercharger, but as much as I love my V6 I would just sell it and buy a V8 instead if I wanted more power.

The answers depend on your goals for the car, and budget. Do you want to have more TQ for spirited street driving? Will you be going to drag strips? Is a weekend trip to autox or track day the plan?

The procharger is easier to install and tune. Pretty proven kit. Turbos are a little more difficult both to install and tune. MPT is developing a turbo kit and it should be good, with tuning from them. They are tuning my Hellion turbo'd car, with data logging, and I like their work so far.

Procharger is pretty much the only proven option for the 3.7L unless you go turbo. I have a procharger on my V6. See my signature for numbers. My car attracts a crowd at shows and meets since hardly anyone puts a blower on a 6. :)

I was told by the dyno shop that ProChargers (or superchargers in general) have a more linear power delivery than turbos and are more satisfying on the street. While I can't speak for how ProCharger works on a 3.7, I've been VERY happy with the one on my 5.0.

You will get different answers especially from many V8 enthusiasts. I think a super or turbo charged 3.7 is awesome. I love it because of the rare factor. Not many boosted 3.7's out there compared to boosted 5.0's. You will have a 400 rwhp plus car instantly with no other mods and on 8 pounds boost. Should you go with procharger.

That would be my choice, the procharger kit. The 3.7 block can easily handle 450 rwhp on the factory internals but the key is a good quality tune.

ProCharger's supplied tune was a good, safe tune. I had the car checked out on a dyno and was told my best bet was to leave it alone. I trust the dyno guy because 1) he is well respected and 2) he was turning down money by telling me I was good to go.

No matter what direction you go, I would have the car checked just for the peace of mind.

I hope to have the mindset as you have now one day. I am still happy with my stock V6 Mustang. My key factor for me is the Transmission. Automatic to me, does not give me that "sport oriented" mindset of being in control on how I want to drive my car.

I also feel like I have my days where I want to take it to a local shop near me and give them 10 grand and have a procharger setup and tuned.

But then... I ask myself, why? there will always be someone faster out there.

Good luck with what you decide!
