I stopped into my dealership today and spoke to the sales manager. He has been in the business long enough that he has learned that people get very disappointed when their car arrives a day or two later than the ETA he had given them. He now routinely adds one week to the ETA he gets from Ford so that he can be the bearer of glad tidings when the car arrives just two days late. I learned that my actual ETA is 3/2. WOO HOO!!!

Usually around May the Montreal mustang club gets it's meets on every friday nights wheather permetting at a shopping mall on curé-labelle just south of the 440 .

orders are scheduled based the following criteria:
-the priority code rating
-the dealer's allocation for each production week
-the ordered option content
-the receipt date
The receipt date is a factor when breaking ties for orders with the same priority code. Therefore, the date is the last factor.
Many posts have noted that a priority of 10 is as good as it gets for a retail order (as opposed to a stock order where a dealer is ordering a car for himself for later sale).
As I understand the allocation week, until your dealer has a production slot allocated in a particular week, your order can't be scheduled in that week.
I suspect the ordered option content has to do with whether or not Ford has your requested option parts available. My dealer advised me that there is the possibility of commodity constraints.
Deysha (and my dealer) were able to tell me the priority and order type on my order. My dealer was able to tell me about his allocations and about any commodity constraints.
It seems to me that the information is available and the process is reasonably transparent. There may be issues of when Ford will start production of a particular model (e.g. a Shelby Cobra), but if you have ordered something typical the above criteria should apply.

It appears my car made it to the dealers lot already.... Problem is they drilled the front bumper after requesting they don't several times. We'll see what they say. I will cancel the intent to buy I they don't repair to my liking. Another dealer did the same to my '06 and they fixed it.

I also told my dealer I did not want the front license plate fixture mounted on the bumper, but that I did want it just in case I had to have it mounted later. My plan is to 'fold' over the top and bottom edges of my front plate and mount it in the lower opening. It is possible to fold it so that the state name and the plate number are visible. Technically, they could still tag me for disfiguring my plate (yes, this stupid state says you can't disfigure your plate), but I'm hoping no troopers get fussed about it.
