1ZV = AAI Ford Passenger Car B = Air Bags and Seatbelts P8F = Mustang GT Convertible F = 5.0 liter V8 X = Check digit B = 2011 (2010's were A) 5 = Assembly: AAI Flat Rock, MI 119188 = Sequence number Source: http://mustangattitude.com/mustang/2011vinmatrix.shtml This was the only way I could figure out my VIN from the crap my dealer gave me. |
Where did the sequence numbers start? It couldn't have been 000001, they ain't made 119188 already.
|
I believe it theoretically starts at 100001.
|
mine was 103705, so I bet they did start at 100001
|
thanks!!!

Confirmed. 100001 to 100294 were pre-production cars, some of which (I'm guessing) may be made available to the public. 100295 and up are ours to enjoy.

Sorry to dredge up this OLD thread but I found one of these "pre-production" cars. Its a 2011 Grabber Blue V6 Premium with sequence number 100154! I was wondering if I can find more about these cars?! It was said to be a corporate executive car.
And the original is below. From the original - the car was built on Jan. 20th. Good luck, and enjoy! |

I was going for a family car initially but this one fell into our lap. Great price and all the options except the auto and performance package. This car has a lots of miles for a new car. I was worried it was a pool car and loaned to the media. According to the dealer and the auction documents it was an executive car. Apparently this person commuted a lot and/or traveled a lot. The person managed to put 35k on in 8 months. I don't drive as much so it will even out quickly. I have a truck for the winter and a cycle for the summer. :) I'm still curious who had the car and why so many miles? I've also been checking all the photos on the net (reviews and car rags) and haven't seen it yet which is promising. The tires only show average wear which would be consistent with travel. Sorry for the long post and hi-jacking of the thread. |

Ancient thread. Still rocking the same car since 2010, now with 63,400 miles. Still makes me grin every spring. Only mods have been GT500 style wheels as the Pony Package ones were so curb rashed - and new tires last year.
Time for a wash tomorrow, will post pictures tomorrow. |

Just want to say thanks for sticking with the S197 Mustang platform during the years and also thank you for sharing your latest photos of your 2011 Grabber Blue, Mustang V6... She continues to look absolutely amazing... :nice:

Beautiful Car!

It is always great to see an early build car still being driven instead of parked forever. Mileage like that over so many years really shows steady use rather than abuse, which is a good sign. I ran into a similar situation once and a SPAM REMOVED helped me understand production timing and original intent, which added context to the story. Cars like this feel more special when they keep living on the road.
