2011 V6 with 3:31 Question
Would like a little imput on what rear gear to get with a 2011 MCA V6 Automatic (have a bad shoulder and the wife all so would like to drive it or I would go stick). I know it won't be very fast either way but would I just be wasting my money on the 3:31 with a v6 Auto.
Also any idea what I would lose in milage with the 3:31 over the stock gear.
Thanks
Ralph

I have the 3.31 gears with my V-6 automatic. They feel normal to me. The engine turns only around 1,800 r.p.m. at 60 m.p.h. I'm very happy with them.
I haven't done any trips yet but my in-town gas mileage is 22 to 23 m.p.g. The same gas mileage i got with my 4 cylinder 158 horsepower trade-in.

I purchased my v6 MCA with auto and 3.31s about a month ago. I was either going with the standard 2.73s with HIDs and rear view camera or 3.31s with comfort package. The comfort package is useless to me, and I would have liked HIDs and the backup cam, but after driving both-- I could not go back to the 2.73s
I test drove a v6 with 3.31s and 2.73s back to back, and it made a huge difference. The 2.73s seemed to have a slight hesitation when you pressed down on the gas before it started accelerating, and the 3.31s seemed to remedy this. It just felt a lot more responsive, and after driving the 3.31s, I could not go with the 2.73s.

I have the V6 MCA with 3.31 a manual. Love it. Drove the 2.73 as well with an auto. The manual with the 3.31 is way more fun. Yes, I can feel the difference. Subtle but definitely a difference.

It's about a 21% increase in ratio, definitely would be something easily felt.
I guesstimate that it would drop 1/4 mile times by 3-4 tenths, probably take about a 1 to 1.5 mpg hit.
