2011 high rpm clutch issue update with TSB
yea, yea, I know, use the search button, well I did but couldn't find anything current...
I took my '11 in last week and took the service mgr for a test drive. He was able to detect
a "sticking" issue with the clutch, but wouldn't "beat on your car" enough to feel when it is
pulled to the floor and hangs up momentarily. Perhaps his longer legs didn't let him !
So, back at the shop he said he wasn't aware of any bulletins for this problem, but would make a repair tag and run it through the Tech Line to see what he could find out, and would also check
for the whine coming from the rearend when not under load.
Today I come home and there is a message on answer machine- " there is an updated clutch
pedal assembly for your car. We have ordered it and will contact you when it comes in".
I don't have a part number or any other info, just this message. So, it looks like Ford is aware
of the problem and is doing something about it. I will post any further info as I get it.
ps: had to order a new horn as well, mine sounds like it belongs on a VW Beetle, just a little bleat,
or as he described it " a girly horn" !!

Interesting. I encountered this problem at the track on Friday but don't really know how to explain to the dealer for any possible warranty work if there is a fix.

I'd love to have that part number...
I am wrestling with my dealer to solve this problem as well
Any future updates are much appreciated
Believe it goes for around 150-200

There were two updates to the manual trans pedal tray. The first occurred around the middle of June, the second with Job 2 in mid-August.

Yep, exactly the reason that the additional info should be posted. Although the issue isn't just with the pedal tray from what I recall.

I've read it previously. At the time it was posted it seemed that Ford was still trying to come up with _the_ fix. One fix is the GT500 pedal assembly. I don't know what Ford finally decided to go with for the GT though.

I'm going to have to look into this more closely, but I really want a fix and if this will solve my clutch pedal sticking issues then I'd probably be more inclined to just pay out of pocket than fight with my dealer. BTDT and it's not worth the headaches.
