As good as the Fox chassis was for it's time, Foxes' are rattle traps complared to the s197s.

Agreed, especially the Fox hatchbacks.

yes, old cars are extremely dangerous. if you have one please take it to the junkyard immediately before you kill yourself or somebody else.

Oh man, I thought he meant racing. Head-on collision? I'll take the '11 any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

S197 all day long. There is a reason it gets 5-star ratings. I can't even begin to guess how a fox mustang would crash using today's standards... Maybe 1-2 star?

Thumbs up

Thanks for the 5.0 v 5.0 comparison. I don't have much experience of Fox Mustangs (there are a few, but they are the minority in the UK). Whilst I adore the new 2011, it's always great to see where it's inspiration came from

I'd rather have the Mustang II's looks than that 80's look.

Hah no. Gotta deal with court and finding a new job yet. Still don't have an outcome for my case, hoping for reckless driving. I just saw that 2011 parts list; I'm thinking new version of the "SHOgun", a late 90s mid-engined, RWD version of the Ford Festiva with a Taurus SHO engine in it. Maybe use the 3.7 from the Mustang in it...

You are out of your mind. The new Mustangs are five star safety rated, not to mention heavier. As much I loved the fox, there is no earthly way it would fare at all well in a head-on with an 05+.

It's not a SHOgun if it doesn't have the Yamahammer in it, sorry. Who are you planning on getting the molds from? I know only one person that has them.
