2011-2012 GT

Hi all, question for all of you.
Looking into 2011/2012 5.0, any issues if someone knows, if the mileage is high should it really be a problem?
Never owned a Mustang and wonder before deciding.
thanks

The only major problem was with some of the early 5.0L engines (2011 cars) having some piston slap, and some loud knocking issues. But, by now any car that had those problems should have been repaired. The main thing is to do your due diligence to find a car that hasn't had it's guts wringed out. They are out there, just take your time. These little cars have proven quite reliable, and with some regular maintenance run forever.

The 2010 has the 4.6L engine that is bullet proof. My '06 4.6L has 97K miles (some on here has well over 200K), and runs like a new one.

I have about 80k on my 2011 with the 6 speed manual. Had one issue with the sending unit on the fuel pump/gauge. It was replaced under warrant in the first couple thousand miles. No real issues since. I know that some had transmission/clutch issues, but mine has been solid with just a fluid change and a MGW shifter. The other issues are minor like seat adjusters, sway bar end link bushings and paint bubbling on the aluminum hoods. These are all things that are easily remedied. Just look for a clean unmolested car and you should be okay. Good luck

100k on my 2012. I have done the regular service on the car. Some suspension work done under warranty so,e years ago and that's it.

138k on my 2011 and the drivetrain has been flawless to date, including still being on the stock clutch. The unexpected repairs have been related to the A/C system (evaporator core and a couple different actuators) and the power seats (driver's side motor died around 70k and passenger side is now dead, which I'm avoiding fixing because it's expensive). Overall, it's been a great car though.
