The base 05 GT can run low to mid 13s stock. The problem is that when a person in the market for a V6 Mustang looks at a V6 Camaro, they're going to stop and wonder if they could pay a little more for a better car. No one is talking about our current S197s. It's the 2010-up Stang that will be compared with the 2010 Camaro. V6 for V6, V8 for V8, the Camaro seems to have the slight upper hand in performance and handling, well the V6 Stang has 210 measly hp while the V6 Camaro has 300 hp out of a V6. If I had to buy a V6 pony car, I wouldn't even consider the Stang. The question then becomes value or bang for the buck.
As for the Challenger - the body looks good, but the interior is crap - it's the same interior that's in the Charger and now defunct Magnum. As far as I'm concerned, it's still a one pony show!!

That's good info! That's what I want to hear! Thanks for posting!
Camaro blah blah... I asked one of the S197 platform engineers if they were concerned about the '10 not being competitive to the Camaro - His response: "If they buy a Camaro because it beats a Mustand in 2010, they'll be sorry in 2011." It didn't seem like it even phased him, after all, it's only one model year. Looks like the horsepower wars are on.

Ahh, GM will be around, albeit in a reduced capacity... 2 points though:
1. Even when the Camaro and Firebird were the performance and handling powerhouses, the Mustang outsold them. I consider that a win (okay, it's a cheesy way to look at it, but hey, take 'em as you get 'em). Just like winning a drag race because the other guy pulled a red light.
2. I have to admit that I did not have the "Gotta have it!!!" feeling I had when I saw the 05 for the first time. I understand that it's only a refresh... I don't feel let down, I just looked at the 10 and said "cool, I guess," and started looking for deals on new 07's and 08's left on lots. Then I had the meeting on Friday about the '11, and now all I can say about the '11 is:
GOTTA HAVE IT!!!

Very hard to find... But they are out there. Usually with wierd or undesirealbe combination of options, making the MSRP rediculous. Unless, it was used by the dealership as a "showroom" car, like the 07 Shelby GT I was looking at.

05fordgt,
you show a MSRP of $240 for the Rear Video Camera (77C) but I got it it quoted from a dealer with $385. What is the correct price for that option?
Also, could you post the prices for the convertible boot (59B) and the 18" V6 wheels (649)?
Thank you!!!

I am not sure why an Audi engineer would be measuring a Ford. Take a look at an Audi and then a Ford, Lincoln, or even Jaguar. There is a reason why Audi is measured as the benchmark in interiors.

Hey bud, sorry for the delay. Was out in a parade with my Mustang Club all day and had dinner afterwards together. The price for the camera IS $385. Wierd. I could have sworn the print out I did said $240. No biggie. As for the Convertible Boot Cover and wheels, they are $160 for the cover, and $495 for the wheels. Hope this helps bud. Stay safe over there.

If they're measuring, they're looking at dimensions not quality. American consumers have different tastes when it comes to interior dimensions than Europeans, everything from shoulder room to armrest clearance. If they're measuring the Mustang's interior it's likely because they believe it to be a good indicator of where our interior dimension tastes are.
