Fast351 10/4/08 07:16 AM

are those the new 19 inch wheels? And it is intresting how low that car is..... Too bad it won't come that way.

steve-o 10/4/08 11:40 AM

Where'd you catch that picture?

Ice Hawk 10/4/08 03:00 PM

That is interesting. Wonder why they are using it now, this close to the reveal of the refresh? Could it be for chasis tweeks or something not related to the body and interior?

codeman94 10/4/08 03:15 PM

IRS testing for 2011?:jester:

Ice Hawk 10/4/08 03:39 PM

Sounds nice to me!

Twin Turbo 10/4/08 03:46 PM

No, they are testing whether they should put the antenna back on the front for the 2011 :rofl2:

All I can make of this is that it is either the 10' revised 4.6 or the 11' 5.0 being tested. Either way I hope both motors are potent because i'm sick of the Chevy guys bragging about the new V6 Camaro and it's only gonna get worse with the SS coming sooner than later.

Clino 10/4/08 06:53 PM

It must be testing for the IRS. I'm no expert on the subject but the attachment on the back wheel looks like it might be measuring suspension travel or wheel movement???

It is really low too. Maybe its testing the Boss package: Racing suspension with IRS, 6 sp, 5.0

Those brakes look big

Clino don't toy with my emotions like that! I would seriously cry tears of joy if that happened:metal:

SuperSugeKnight 10/4/08 10:25 PM

I don't think they would test the Boss as a convertable.

Knight Rider 10/5/08 08:36 AM

that what they want you to think:jester:

IRS PWEEEZE

Clino 10/5/08 09:21 PM

It's true, I don't see why they would use a convertible as a test car if it was for something like a Boss package, but those brakes do look big, and the car is low. I can't think of what else it might be besides some sort of performance package.

On a more general note, I feel like Ford has really stopped pussy footing around, and is going to surprise alot of people with the cars they are going to be releasing in the next couple of years. Playing it safe obviously hasn't worked well, so I think they are taking a more dramatic approach in both design and performance. And it's about time!

Zoomie 10/6/08 09:25 AM

Look like some pretty low profile tires with those big brakes. That and the testing attachment on the rear wheel would seem to indicate that it is some sort of suspension package test.

Put it on a '10 vert & it would be difficult to spot (except by someone like TN) & harder still to identify a potential target model. IRS + for the '10 MY would be great, but all is mere speculation at this point. Fun speculation, though...

SuperSugeKnight 10/6/08 02:21 PM

My buddy pointed out something about this pic. Look at the interior. Is that a roll bar?

Yeah, IRS would be great, but I think the most reasonable guess would be that they're just testing a revised suspension and that IRS still won't be coming until 2014.
