Just some FYI for you guys. I noticed the same whine in my car after I bought it in November. only 1500 miles on it. I took it to my dealer and they admitted that this was the first 5.0 they had worked on, but after driving around the block they agreed that it didn't sound "right". Now I think that since I was one of the first people to report the issue Ford stepped up and replaced the transmission. Now the interesting part: the new transmission was silent until around 1200 miles on it and it started to whine as well. I now have 6000 miles and it's whining louder than the first box. I will admit that it shifts oh so smoothly and I love it, but if it continues to get louder I'm sure I will eventually hit a threshold where I can no longer stand it. I'm no where near that now. I haven't bothered the dealer with the second transmission whining, but I'll take it in this week to be documented.
Anyone know if the transmission from the GT500 will bolt up to the 5.0?

I would like to document this for you as well. Could you message me with your dealer, mileage, VIN, and contact info?

Well I have a 2012 5.0 and I start to hear the whine noise around 3500 miles. I took to the dealer and they said its an issue. After 29 days I got my car back which still had the whine noise. After I test drove it with the dirty ford tech riding along I told him that the whine was still there. They told me that it's normal after 29 days of tearing my brand new car apart. I then decided to get a second option from another dealer. After 2 days they told me it a high performace car so it will make transmission noise. So at this point I just decided to just live with it. You can only hear it with the windows up radio off.
Well at 10300 miles the whine is much louder. You can hear it with the windows down also with the radio on. Also when you put the wood to it you can hear a high pitch whine. If it was a gear profile problem it should stay the same and no functional problem. If it is a bearing that is wearing under a load it go at some point in time.
I go back to the dealer tomorrow.

same issue here, below 3000 rpm I can hear the whine in 1-2-3-4 gears and above 3000rpm I can hear nice exhaust note, this happens all the time and its worse when cold.I have around 3700 miles on my 3 month old car, build date is 12/11, bought it from dealer's lot on 01/22.
