In my area of Maryland I rarely see Torch Red Mustang GTs, and just saw two in a 5 minute period. Made me wonder, how common was the color over the years it was offered? I have a 2005 manufactured in November 2004...

 

I'm on my 2nd Torch Red, first was a 2005 v6 2nd a 2007 GT, I think this color has been offered since 2005 at least. I think, and I may be mistaken, that Race Red and Colorado Red are the some paint-code wise.

 

Torch Red has been mid 2001-2010. Early 2001 it was Performance Red, and prior to that it was Rio Red. In 2011, Race Red replaced Torch Red.

 

Your not mistaken as Torch Red has the same color code as Colorado Red which is D3..

Patrick is also correct as Torch Red/Colorado red was around from 2001-2011 and IIRC Race Red still uses the same paint code as in D3..
