:dunno: My mustang will be here this week. I am thinking about some mods and I have been stuck on the stripes. I have taken a look at the sticky to paint the stripes, but I am really unsure if any stripes look good on this color. This might just be me, what do you think? :dunno:

Black w/ Bullitts
Silver w/ Concept Wheels.

I'm partial to the black...

Maybe another shade of non-metallic grey would be cool too (a few shades lighter or darker)

I had the exact same dilemma....I wanted mineral grey with slightly lighter coloured stripes. The problem is, after seeing one in person, in direct sunlight there is just too much brown/beige in the paint that really won't look good with mineral grey. so it has to be either black stripes or no stripes. maybe not what you wanted to hear because I was completely set on that colour too, but I ended up ordering the car in black.

hope this helps

Black or white work fine on this color IMO. :nice:

A friend of mine had a DSG Mach 1.. He had a carbon fiber stripe that looked good on it..

Redfire would be my choice on the MG.
That or black.

Enfynet Nov 21, 2004 10:47 PM

No stripe on MG... actually... put a stripe on it, but I'm not putting a stipe on mine. It's way to classy for stripes IMO

I was looking at the 2 black stripes. It kind of reminds me of "Eleanor". Wonder if there's an after market grill replacement, too.

IMHO before you do anything that costs bucks, look the car over the way Ford gives it to you. I canceled on a number of "mods" once I received my car and had a chance to appreciate it completely. B)

Silver stripes, if any.

I couldn't agree more. I wanted stripes for the longest time, but once I got the car, mineral gray is just too classy of a color to stripe it IMO. At the very most, I may put a black rocker panel stripe on mine. And even that, I don't think I will do. Stripes are for more "bland" colors that need something to make it stand out. In my opinion, mineral gray is just too nice a color and stands out great on it's own. If you do decide to get stripes though, I would get black. I was doing some searching on the net a couple months back and found some early 2000 mustangs in mineral gray with stripes... most with black stripes and one or two with white or silver stripes. And I definitely think black goes better with this color. Ultimately it comes down to your preference and how much you want this car to stand out. It is easy to overdo it though.

On a side note... satin silver was my second choice, and after seeing the silver '05 with the gray stripes, I gott tell ya... I like that combo. Especially if that car has the gray bullitts to match the gray stripes, which I'm sure it does. Nice choice. :nice:

Here's the pic...

I also love the mineral gray, but love the stripes, and don't think that they really go well together. If I get the MG, I'll either go with the red interior/red calipers, and red GT300 rocker stripes, OR the charcoal interior and CDC shaker hood scoop with blacked-out hood and tail-light panel. Or silver stripes. Or not. I also like the Sonic Blue. At this rate the whole car will be redesigned by the time I pick a color. If I could just get three or four of them...

For MG, I'm thinking of stripes that are a color GM currently has. It's a darker gray and very metallic.

I8URVTEC Nov 24, 2004 07:48 AM

On mineral grey I would go with black stripes.

Ranger Nov 24, 2004 07:53 AM

I'm getting MG and first thought I would go with black stripes. Have decided to paint the center section of the hood black in "semi gloss". My second choice would be a slightly lighter shade of grey for the stripes.

I went with flat black stripes. I was really on the fence over gloss or flat. I am glad I got the flat black and I have had many compliments on it.

blackhat Dec 14, 2005 08:56 AM

I went with gloss white. I love 'em and was surprised by just how many compliments from strangers I've received. I'm sure there are just as many out there that don't care for them and that's cool. I'm the only one that has to like 'em :)
