Great Shows in a Polite Easy Paced Environment! I Can Watch One of These and Come Away With Little Bits & Pieces of Technique Which Some Details Can Translate in To Car Repair Skills!

Furniture restorers, horologists, metal workers, ceramicists, upholsterers and all manner of skilled craftsmen and women have been brought together in one extraordinary space to restore much loved possessions to their former glory. Many of these items have incredible stories behind them and a unique place in history: from an accordian played in the Blitz by a woman who's now in her nineties, to a beautifully crafted clock made by a father who was completely blind. 'The Repair Shop' is an antidote to the throwaway culture and shines a light on the wonderful treasures to be found in homes across the country.

Speaking of throw-away culture… I just do not understand how they can shame you one minute for not recycling and then they are taking their beat to a pulp stuff to the thrift store so they can justify buying something new. If you take care of your stuff, cheap or otherwise, the stuff will last longer. You do not have to constantly be buying so much new stuff as your old is really (who wants you beat up old stuff) being sent to the landfill.

I used to watch this when it was on Netflix. Some really good repair skills on that show. It is a good watch for those who are looking for something to do.
