Will the Interceptor be built?
Maybe....maybe not but I did this quote in this Autoweek.com article very interesting:
Freeman Thomas, Ford’s North American strategic design director, says what the Interceptor represents is very realistic—and that Ford is seriously looking into building it, or something darned close.

Ford commissioned the interceptor and MKR as concepts, but the design/build teams made them as close to Production look as they could get away with. As a result, people more readily voice their desire for something they believe is/should be close to production already. Good on the teams for doing their jobs right, and (if they're built) good on the white collars for paying attention.

Knowing Ford, that 10% change will be going to production with a 3.5L v6 and a 4 speed auto.
Ford: PAY ATTENTION.
People want this car's powertrain as is. Bring the body and interior into reality without cutting corners or even considering MCR actions on it. Be bold!

Remember, that powertrain is the Cammer 5.0L race engine. That motor is not street legal (not emissions passible), and on top of that, its a $15,000 motor! Now, that isn't to say that they can figure out a way to make the motor pass the smog test, but the price of the engine makes it unfeasible for production. Now, the 400 hp 4V that was shown in the Bullitt threads, that would make for a great rear-wheel drive sedan motor.
