Hm maybe, that market is pretty flooded as it is though. Couldn't hurt I suppose. Plus we've already got the Escape

We don't need more competition for Escape and Mariner.

but the escape needs a replacement and fast. Its losing sales and popularity. Let's not forget that the 2008 Escape is just a minor facelift of the same body that's lasted nearly six years. Another way to bring the Ecosport to the US is to call it an Escape only in the US. Just my 2 cents.

The Escape doesn't need a replacement. The basic platform is pretty good. What it needed, in addition to a restyle, was a drivetrain upgrade. The 3.5L with a 6-speed would have been optimal but at the very least it needed the Fusion's 3.0L with 6-speed.

The EcoSport is a small SUV that starts at $17-18K
And the SVP version goes for $21K

And if I'm seeing correctly, Mexico gets the awesome Focus!!

Yeah it is smaller than the escape, i'm pretty sure its even based on the Fiesta platform, if i recall correctly. They've been talking about bringing a vehicle like this to NA for a while... i think it was on Motor Trend's ****ty future vehicle forecast for 2008 or something. It might happen (definitely not 2008 though) alongside the B-segment car, but i kinda hope not to tell you the truth.

I don't think Ford would make a lot of money of ST. Since its Focus, it has to be priced pretty low; maybe as low as Neon SRT-4 ($21,000). I don't think anyone would pay more than that for Focus.

I;m not sure, but if the ST can compete against the Evo and the STi (handling wise), then that cost is warranted a bit
It is used as a rally car, as are the Evo and the STi

BTW, it looks awesome in Blue! It comes with blue inserts/accents in the interior

The Ecosport was supposed to make it over to the States, but Mark Fields ****canned it since it was a turd and not what he wanted Ford to do in the B-car segment

Hell no and it never will thank God!!

It is a ugly little beast, it's made in Brazil, and the last thing Ford needs is another SUV looking vehicle.

The whole point of having a B-car is to have a cheap vehicle that gets max fuel mileage, the added heft and aero drag of an SUV negates the benefit of a B sized vehicle.

That thing would have only been a poor selling disaster for Ford, we're getting a real B-car, we just have to wait foever unfortunately..
