Does anyone have any news on this? Is it ever going to reach production?

Hey Frank, the last thing that I read in some magazines, and on some on-line forums, was that Ford was going to concentrate more on mainstream production vehicles, that everyone can buy, and kind of shelve the car for a bit. Now, that was several months ago, I don't know if Ford has changed their tune to the idea of producing the car. I for one hope they do. It is always great for a car company to have a halo car. It gets people excited. Only time will tell, I suppose. :nice:

Thanks Jeff, I saw a post on the FordGTforums that talked about a rumored 80K price point. I'm ready to do a second mortgage for that car at that price. I figured it might be dead since there has been zero talk or speculation about it. I hope they build it....

The Ford GT was built to demostrate Ford's strength as an automotive company. The former president left Ford with virtually no products in the works, so Ford really needed a shot of adrenaline to boost its image. The Ford GT did that, then the F-Series, Mustang, and Fusion. I don't think they need a halo vehicle anymore.
