One nice touch: Lincoln has moved the automatic transmission controls to the dashboard and banished the pull-up handle for the parking brake to create more space. The center console control labels disappear when the car is off to enhance the clean, uncluttered look.

Not too shabby from that photo.....

Zastava_101 10/3/12 08:06 AM

Best looking Lincoln since late 1970s Continentals.

Good looking ride.

Thanks for posting Evil_Capri.

The new Lincoln does look impressive, but I just can't get around knowing how much better the driving dynamics would be if it were rear-wheel drive based.........

Just my thoughts.------Bill

I'm sweeting for a month now - this baby is lovely.
If it had the 3,5 v6 Ecoboost engine - it would have been marvelous.
But the price is disappointing.....

Looks really plain and boring. Really disappointed. You're not gonna stray Cadillac buyers with that one.

I agree. It's nice, but nice doesn't cut it.

With the CTS and now smaller ATS being RWD, Lincoln really needs those '15 Mustang underpinnings to rival it.

And the styling? Again, it's OK, but the new Fusion beats it, for me. That front end, with the small headlamps? Just a bit too "facelifted" if you know what I mean. It needs a broader, more muscular look.

Nice.....but that alone will not save Lincoln :(

Zastava_101 10/4/12 08:27 AM

I don't think its necessary to have a RWD in a luxury car.

Look at the Audi. They're #2 luxury automaker in the world in sales (and most likely will pass BMW for #1 next year) and they don't have a RWD model.

Lincoln needs more vehicles. Not counting outdated Navigator, they have only 4.

All of that is true about Audi, but remember they didn't start really receiving all the praises from the car buff magazines until they started to put and move their engines back towards the rear of the front drive axle, and even then they still had to get away from the 50/50 torque split that they were using for years with their Quattro driveline and even still had to employ torque vectoring in the rear axle to get their cars to handle, guess what ?......more rear drive like.

All of that being said, I'm highly disappointed that Lincoln does not have a rear drive based car in its lineup.
If history tells us anything, it's that the best cars always started life as rear wheel drive. Pure and simple, and Lincoln won't have one..........

Just some of my thoughts on the matter.------Bill
