No, Zephyr based off the new Explorer/Aviator platform. Honestly I'm absolutely in love with the new Aviator. It's a beautiful vehicle. If somehow my finances change drastically within the next 5 years, I'd love to daily one, keep the Mustang as my special fun car and pick up and older F-150 for truck things. That Aviator is gorgeous!! Also, it's going to be on a new RWD/AWD platform underpinning the new Explorer and sharing a bit with the next gen S650 Mustang. I would imagine Lincoln will be getting at least one sedan, maybe 2 and maybe a coupe off that platform.

Unfortunately they were. Nothing but problems.
I even had one snap a timing chain. How TF does that happen? I've never heard of that happening.
Lincoln Sh!tbox was another fond LS description

So with Ford phasing out, it's passenger sedan cars, will this also mean the demise of the resurrected 2017-18 Lincoln Continental as well, or will it remain in production

I'm trying to think of the last sedan I bought and it was a 2010 SHO and I kept it barely a year before getting the wife a new SUV again.

Before that I'd have to go back to 1999 I think.

All my vehicles for myself, my wife, and my kids have all been trucks, SUV/Crossovers, and mustangs.

We have an Escape, Edge, and Explorer for the kids and wife respectively.

My wife would never even consider a car. Even my 78 year old mother is on her second Expedition after driving nothing but Lincoln Town Cars from 1981- 2006

2 Ford Probes
1 Mazda Miata
1 For Mustang (still own it)

That car is an amazing disappointment.
The concept looked good, but the production car, especially the rear design, is so ho-hum that it makes me wonder why they ever bothered to bring it to production.
Seriously, from the rear it looks like an early-'90's Honda.
WTF Lincoln???

They're now supposedly gonna be re-naming a bunch of their models.
The MKZ is going back to the Zephyr name is once held and I think the MKX suv is becoming Nautilus.
The Aviator is coming back and so far it looks beautiful.
Hope they don't screw it up like they did with the Continental.

The new RWD/AWD platform going under that Aviator will most likely also get used under the Explorer soon.
I also fully expect a version of that platform to end up under the next Mustang, which will also open the chance for an AWD option on the Mustang.

But I'd love to see that platform also used under a future Taurus.
Make it AWD for all models, with a new SHO using the Raptor 3.5 EcoBoost V6 ... 450 hp and 510 ft-lbs of torque in a Taurus SHO would be fun!

Yep, all of this. I agree. The Continental concept was so beautiful. The production car is so boring on the outside. The interiors though - they're getting those right. Even the new Navigator looks stunning in person. And the Aviator? I'm drooling over it. I actually want one!

I am with you on this one. I have never owned an SUV. I have always driven cars for basic transportation/commuting, since they are less expensive to buy and operate. I have had a 3/4 ton truck for 20 years for hauling and towing. It looks like the next time I need a car I will have to look beyond Ford.
