Ford Ranger - Overseas Only?

http://www.me.ford.com/en/sau/trucks/ranger

Just saw this while browsing around -- it looks pretty cool, kind of a mini-Raptor! But they don't sell them in the US or Canada -- that link is from the Saudi Arabian website.

So what gives? Why not sell this in North America, the land of trucks?

Looks like they sell it in Mexico, too. Don't worry, it's not really $295,000, their exchange rate sucks. It's about $23,000 US. Good price point ... also shows how far your money can go down there!

probably Ford is worried that it might kill the F150 sales

Seems like the one Australia has too. Ive seen the australian one one ford australia a while back. looks pretty sweet. there was a video on the ford australia site that showed it was rated to go like 3 or 4 feet in the water with the way the air box was built and what not. its a shame we dont have something like this here in america

Wow, just saw this link on it too:

Won International Truck of the Year 2013, and it's not even available in its home country?!

Ive been to many many different parts of Mexico. the f150 is too large for the narrow streets but the ranger is the perfect sized pick up truck

Huh? The I-Ranger's home country is Thailand.

Dude :shower:

It's a Ford. Ford's home country is the USA. You know what I meant.

Stupid on Fords part. They handed that market share to Toyota and Nissan here.

They seem to be selling F150s just fine.

And yes, the home country is Thailand. Ford is a global company, and the vehicle is not built in the US at all, nor is it sold here.

They also sell rcsb fx4 pickups too, unlike here you can't get those, they called it the f-150 lobo.
When I was in Colombia s.america, they have rangers and fx4 regular cabs. And occasional mustang

The reg. cab short bed is going to be offered in '14 as a Tremor package. It'll be in 2WD and 4WD models. Basically an FX4 Ecoboost with a few unique trim parts.
