The More Ev's We See the More Issues Pop Up! Add in Self Driving and You Got to Ask Yourself are We Getting Ahead of the Tech too Fast? Oh and We are Going to Be Using a Chinese Based Company to Make the Batteries Now! Really!

I'm not surprised and I agree 100% that tech is running way ahead of reality. I'm always clicking on the EV stories that are negative to prove I'm not alone in my thinking. I really dislike the **** things. I read another recent story that said the actual cost of running an EV far exceeds the good old ICE car.
How Dare You Insinuate Ford Would Slap a Name On A Car That Did Not Deserve It! For Shame!
FORD Granada & LINCOLN Versailles

Now Even Worse and not to leave GM off the Hook was the Chevrolet Cavalier Rebadged as a Cadillac Cimmaron!
FORD LINCOLN
I think the only thing anyone wanted from the Lincoln Versailles was the disc brake 9" rear end
Yep, Us Old Timers are the Only Ones That Remember That Bonus! And I Had Forgot it till you Posted! Doubt There are Many of Those Left Out There. Back in the Good Old Days when We Had to Go to the Salvage Yard For an Adventure Instead of Clicking on a Parts Website! YEP YEP YEP! Half the Fun Was Finding the Cool Stuff to Retrofit!
Many of My Old 383 Mopars Went from a 2bbl Carb to a 4bbl Using a Used 68-70 Magnum Junk Yard Manifold and a Carter AVS. Probably $50.00 Back Then! I could Change Those with my Eyes Closed! Loved That Dry Block! I was Mr. Retrofit Long Before the TMS Days!

No EV for me,.....thank you very much!!!
I will NEVER own an EV, or for as long as I can. They, the government, will make it so we all will drive EV's, but until till then,.......hard pass for this car/truck guy!!
Imagine charging an EV in the garage overnight and fire breaks out in the middle of the night while everyone is asleep. What would be the probable outcome of survival? What about surviving with severe injuries? How cute and stylish would an EV be then? The best risk to take is not to take one, not if one cares for loved ones.
The only safe solution I can think of would be to have an all brick masonry and concrete detached dwelling at a safe distance from the house exclusively for charging.
We Have A School Bus That Turns Around at the Other Side of The Road from Our House. Sometimes it's an Electric Full Size Bus! I Cringe at the Though of One of Those Going Off with a Load Of Kids. They Simply Could Not get Out Fast Enough. Just Unimaginable at What Could Happen!
It's Sobering to Think will Something Like This Have To Happen Before The Clueless Wake Up!
Hell Those F-150's Did Not Even Make it to the Dealership Before Going Up in Smoke! Time will Only Make Them More Unreliable and Wait till the Shade Tree Mechanics Try & Modify Them! Get Out the Shock Pole To Pull Them Off the Battery!
Let's Add Driverless to the Equation! OMG! Out of Control Firebomb! Or Maybe {Hacked} Firebomb!
In What Dimension Do Electronics Become More Reliable With Age! Not This One!

At work I used cordless drills which one time a battery and the charger got burned to a crisp, there was no other damage and a circuit breaker had to be reset. Eventually I found out that as rechargeable batteries get older they will retain less charge, take longer to charge, and get hot while being charged. No doubt rechargeable tools are convenient, with a price.
At home all my tools are electric including my garden tools used with a reel of 2 100 feet of extension cords. Inconvenient at times yes, but safe.
Well, for those in government who have plenty of financial interests on batteries, EVs, their made-up-end-of-the world-alarms, and the rest of the green agenda crap is not bad at all. Their hook, line, and sinker strategy is working to a tee... Suburbans, Expeditions, power boats, private jets, multiple vacation waterfront homes, potter house steaks, French wines, creme de la creme ladies of the night... they are no dummies...
Well... I believe AOC has a EV and if my memory serves me right it is a Tesla or perhaps some other EV since Elon Musk restored Conservatives' first amendment rights on Tweety Bird. Anyway, if she has a EV, and if she lives in a high-rise, and if that high-rise has an underground parking garage, AOC, being a fully decorated Congressional Rep for her NY constituents should be allowed, or better yet, should have the right to park her EV in the parking garage regardless of the EVs' minor shortcomings.
