Exclamation Ford Announces Big Changes Again

Ford Motor Comany and the United Auto Workers union reportedly have agreed to offer buyouts to all of the auto maker's approximately 75,000 union workers in the U.S.
The Wall Street Journal cited local United Auto Workers union officials in reporting the deal.
Ford announced Thursday that Anne Stevens, the first female executive vice president of the company and one of the highest ranking females in the automotive industry, is retiring. Stevens, 57, had been overseeing the No. 2 U.S. automaker's restructuring.
Ford says it will outline its new restructuring plan Friday morning. It's expected to include more plant closings and expanded employee layoffs in an accelerated restructuring and cost-cutting plan it calls "Way Forward."
In a statement, the company said it will issue a news release at 7 a.m., Eastern time and give presentations to employees and the media starting at 9 a.m.
Ford's board of directors had been meeting for the past two days to discuss the restructuring

Wonder what Steven's departure will mean for the product line. There were several people claiming she was responsible for pre-Fusion products (500, Freestyle) being so watered-down and bland. But there were also alot of people saying she was an advocate for better handling and ride in Ford vehicles.
