Check this out, a little blurb on autosinsider about Ricky Rudd helping some ford person park a car:
http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosinsider/0.../D02-264785.htm NASCAR star shows some chivalry during Ford visit An administrative assistant at the Ford product development center in Dearborn was recently pressed into action as a car valet. After parking a Corvette that Ford engineers were driving for comparison purposes, she was told the low-slung two-seater was in the wrong spot and had to be moved again. Because her skirt made for awkward entries and exits, she asked for a volunteer from a small delegation of visitors who had gathered near the front door. One of them responded graciously, parked the 'Vette and returned the keys a few moments later. His name: Ricky Rudd. The NASCAR star was visiting Ford for a test drive. So they're driving a corvette for comparison purposes eh? Do you think they could just be comparing it to the GT500? or maybe a two seater along the lines of the GR-1... |
:hmm:
Well, the Shelby is supposed to have some Corvette numbers, so it might be that |
ya, i suppose that's it. i'd still like to pretend they've got a two seater coming out aimed at the Z06.
I would assume it would be the Shelby, but would be great if it was the GR-1.
the GR-1 is direct competition with the Zo6...i dont know if its aimed at it or not, i hope ford makes a two seater to take out the base model
IMO if the GR-1 is in the pipe line and its gonna be mega bucks like the GT, then dump it.. However if Ford can bring a GR-1 to market in the 50 to 70k range, sweet. The vette (especially the Z06) is a tough act to beat for the price.
if they could get the GR-1 in the market at less than 100k I would seiously amazed, just my $.02
I gotta say, I think you'll be amazed then. I'm thinking it (if it comes to market, probably a big if) would be Viper-like prices - $85K
