Barrett-Jackson: Ford To Auction Off Two Early SVTs

The upcoming Las Vegas installment of the Barrett-Jackson auction is coming this weekend and Ford will be offering up a couple interesting SVT vehicles.
One is a 2000 SVT Cobra R that was used by Ford Racing as a pace car for a short time before being tucked away into storage. It's #2 of the 300 Cobra Rs made that year and is clearly in immaculate condition. Although its 385-horsepower 5.4-liter V8 seems tame by today's standards, anyone who has driven one of these track-ready beasts knows that this was one of the coolest Cobra Mustangs ever built.

Also on the block will be a Ford GT that was used by SVT to test various components and overall durability. It was the second GT built and was converted for a short time to Canadian specifications. It's now back in U.S. trim and full road legal. Look for the Mustang to cross the block on Friday night while the GT will make its appearance on Saturday. More pics after the break.

Both of those cars are amazing. Wish I was rich enough to have both.

When you drive a Ford GT just one time, your screwed for your entire life, as everything else that you drive just pales in comparison. I say screwed, as unless the lotto comes up, most will never afford one!! :shame: I've driven one twice here at work, and its like a drug and I am always needing another fix, lol! THE BEST CAR FORD EVER BUILT!!!

Gary for you I'll call up Barrett Jackson and set it all up for you to phone bid , I'll just need some credit card info as they will no doubt ask lol I'd just love to go to one and know what on the block have oh 1 million and wait it out ! and have what's her name ? with the long hair do my shoulder stoking etc while her hubby's up there . Before I die one day !

My credit card wouldn't be able to buy the wheels and tires on the GT. :shame:

The Ford GT is the only supercar that I have ever really drooled over....well, besides the Ferrari F40, but that is so rediculously priced.
