i'm thinking Bill Ford is a really smart guy. I think in maybe like 5 or 10 years, we're gonna be congradulating him on saving the company. He's realized that basically a car company needs to sell cars, he's thinking about what kinds of cars people want, and what makes people buy one car over another. Style and design, that's a huge factor, and he's hired tons of solid design guys. They did an amazing job on the fusion, i think the 500, from a design point of view, is done really well, its just that boldness wasn't valued as highly as it should have been during the design process. Now they seem to realize that people want to stand out, so we'll see how they go about changing the 500 a little bit.
And then he's realizing that he needs to build fords image, get people thinking positive things when they hear "Ford". Rather than immediately blurting out "Fix Or Repair Daily" cause its a funny thing to say and the first thing that comes to mind, it'd be sweet if people immediately associated the name Ford with technology and innovation and cool new cars that use state of the art, environmentally friendly technology.
Reading this, and seeing how smart Ford is, getting some pretty decent publicity by writing to Bush and calling for an energy summit, i feel like i should invest in Ford now, while their shares are down, cause I think they're gonna start going up over the next decade or so.
