4.0L I6 Turbo for fusion?

Since the falcon shares the same platform as new fusion, what do you think the odds are of seeing the 4.0T motor from the xr6? I think it would be sooooo awesome!

Ummmmmm, Falcon shares nothing with the new Fusion.

New Fusion is FWD and will spawn the next-gen European Mondeo.

Falcon is RWD and a relatively old platform.

I thought the mondeo and falcon shared the same platform. I figured the mondeo/fusion would flow to the falcon.

Nope, Falcon rides on an Aussie platform. And that I6, while still holding up well, is fairly ancient. Making it work within Emissions and Efficiency regulations in the US and Europe would be a tall order.

The Next Falcon will have a One Ford platform and drivetrain. Possibly a derivative of the next Mustang, perhaps a RWD derivative of an AWD sedan/crossover platform. We'll see.

I had the Chance but I didn't have the new 5.0 gt to send. I met an Australian naval pilot he was all about it.

I don't think Falcon is that impressive, at least not on the straight line. 0-60 mph in 5.3 sec, 1/4 mile in 13 sec ... I mean, even heavy Taurus SHO is better than that.

But it sure looks good.

I'll take a Falcon over a Taurus any day.

It looks soooooooo good. I've seen the aftermarket for these things. Power is comparable to the supra. I've seen 1,000hp F6s. They sound so mean too.

Good point. but even though the SHO is faster, I don't think I could say no to that bad boy  its everything i want from a car

As much as I like Fords, I would actually rather take this Holden/Vauxhall over Falcon.

Blasphemy!!!

Moosetang 2/21/12 08:46 PM

I find both to be really dated compared to current NA-market cars.

future9er24 2/21/12 09:34 PM

i like the vauxhall alot. Test drove a G8 GT a few years ago and it was schweeet

Though I haven't driven a Falcon.. I should probably remedy this

The 4.0T makes about as much power as the coyote
