The overall drivetrain isn't yet specified, and since Ford doesn't really have all that many RWD platforms (F150 and Mustang are the biggies) it's safe to guess this will be AWD. They also specify: ... Lincoln Drive Control that offers clients a choice of three driving modes – normal, sport and comfort – to suit their individual preferences. ... but I can't think of any car with any kind of selectable driving mode that doesn't offer those three basic preferences. A Lincoln should have some setting like HyperSmoothClass mode, where the suspension is softened to such a degree that you could play Jenga in the back while driving over railroad tracks. |

The interior looks like a new Audi A8. Overall, looks pretty nice. Can't wait to see the finial product.

No, I read on Car and Driver (I believe) that it will have ~375hp (3.0 TT) and the Focus RS AWD system as an option riding on Fusion chassis until D6 chassis is ready.

It's way too busy for my taste - the wheels, grill and low trim.

I like it overall but those wheels are not working for me. Don't think they need all that chrome along the bottom either.

That chrome wasn't going to make it into production, its auto show bling. Maybe a small chrome strip along the bottom for production.
That's what I was thinking....that chrome strip as shown would be a royal pain to keep clean. And count me in on the group that does not like those rims. :puke: |
If its true that this will replace the MKZ, and keeps the MKZ pricing (+3-4 grand extra max) it would be an awesome price for a car with interior that looks as it came out of 80k+ car.

This is the MKS replacement. That leaves the door open for a "Town Car" flagship. The Black Label trim will probably offer the blue leather and metal bits (along with a production version of that wheel design). Overall, I like it. If it has standard AWD, I could forgive the lack of a RWD platform for now.

I'm not excited by it. Though many despise the split-wing grill, it is far more distinctive than this generic looking effort. (The split-wing grill works well with the MKC and the MKZ, but is very clumsily implemented in the MKS, and the Navigator.) Add the dip in the lower section of the grill to the upper line of the grill and it could just as easily be a Kia Optima grill (except that the lights on the Optima seem to be better integrated into the overall design.)
The chrome lower panels and the rims are show-car bling--not going to make it into production would be my bet. The power sounds like it will be adequate, unless it is saddled with the weight of a Challenger Hellcat. (If I'm going to buy something that weighs 4500-lbs, I want to be able to tow 9,000-lbs). The overall look and feel is almost Toyota level bland--as if I've seen the design before. And of course, I feel I have--the overall look reminds me very much of the Ford Interceptor concept of 2007, even to the wheels (though the Lincoln sports more spokes). |
it's kind of Bentley-esque. will convert to a stretch nicely.

I didn't hate the split wing grille, and feel it could have been better done, but this looks really good and best of all, it screams AMERICAN LUXURY, like Lincoln used to stand for. I'm all for it. Funny, after I bought my 2014 GT, Ford sent me their survey asking about my experience and thoughts on Ford/Lincoln in general. I went to TOWN, outlining a complete lineup of Lincoln cars, bringing back all the old nameplates, bucking the trend of alpha numeric, no matter what everyone else is doing. If everyone wants to sell cars in China, go right ahead. Lincoln should focus their efforts HERE. Let Cadillac go head to head with Germany if they want...Lincoln should cater to the unapologetic Americans with money. :yup: |
