Cool 2011 Explorer Reveal!

This week First lady and I were fortunate enough to attend a very special Ford dealers 2011 Explorer reveal in our area for invitation guests only.

First off all I can say if you are a big Ford product fan and you like or need one of the larger sized SUV's? And also want about 25 MPG and need to haul up to seven folks, this new 2011 Explorer baby may be your ticket?

At this private showing by a great Rep. from Ford Micigan, they gave us the whole concept, engineering and thought put into this new product. He spent a great deal of of time explaining each and every new feature and all of new product improvements! Loved the quite glass demo with the key tap on the windows!! Too cool!

This model says 21st century Ford design and features everywhere! The quality, fit and workmanship on this was nothing short of wonderful! The Mrs. had a personal demo run through of the Sync and Nav systems that she just totally loved!!

Bottom line, the Explorer is to be priced somewhere between 28-48K depending which model how many toys you want to load up on it.

Dealer indicated probable deliveries should begin around Christmas time or perhaps in early January 2011?

Just like Mr. Mike Roe would say "Check It Out". If you do, be prepared to be blown away with this brand new piece of Ford Engineering!! "RC"

P.S. Forwarding a few pix we took while there at the Explorer reveal!

Nice, but that back seat is for short trips for short people only, lol. Your feet have to be about 3 inches below your butt w/ your knees in your chest.

I like it though. An AWD model may be in my wife's future if/when her Jeep sees it's last days.

Not entirely correct 05GT. FYI: I sat back there and knee room was very tight for a man. But these new design third row seats fold down into a nice storage well below the floor! And this then provides some nice leg room for the children or for smaller adults when those seats are placed in the upright position. Check out these third seat Pix by Ford site.

The next pass/fail exam on this new 2011 Explorer for us, will be the future road test and also the back country lane drive for the Mrs. This to see if she wants to commit to placing an order for one of these? "RC"

Oh yeah, that looks much better than I thought it would've based on the photo from the rear.

Has anyone heard any firm MPG ratings yet? That will be one of the biggest pass/fail criteria for us as to whether or not we would consider a new Explorer. It does look great though. Thanks for the pics.
