Hard to say how good it looks with all the camo but, it does look slimmer.

Wow, dual exhaust tips, even if it's most likely a fake dual system.

those are pretty huge wheels for a taurus...

SHO?

The original Taurus was a trend setter/segment leader. This thing just looks like a Camry chaser/copier. Times sure have changed.

Not that it looks at all bad...just that it doesn't look as though it breaks any new ground.

So is Ford moving Taurus to mid-size class again or something? What's gonna happen to Fusion?

instigator311 7/10/08 06:34 PM

So much for the Taurus and the MKS having different styling...

Knight 7/11/08 09:57 AM

those are lincoln wheels, maybe they just have them on there for testing though.

Keep in mind test mules and preproduction prototypes usually have parts from other production cars in place until the production parts are ready.

Mules of the current Mustang used steering wheels from a Focus and the gauge cluster from the 94-04 Mustang...

I like the dash of the new Taurus in the spyshot. It ties in well with the 2010 Mustang look. If Ford starts putting a little Mustang in everything they make the cars will be desirable. It's like the 1960's when one car would influence the others. For instance the popular 1958 Tbird hardtop roofline eventually used on all Fords giving them all a signature related look.

I don't like the twin brow usage in the Taurus. While it looks good, it ought to be reserved for the Mustang only, otherwise it dilutes the Mustang's uniqueness.

Overall, though, quality appears to be up - nice to see the Sony badged center speaker...lends a definite upmarket feel to the car.

The MKZ uses sort of a twin brow dash.

Huh? Its MKS-sized, and MKS is not mid-size.

MKS is full size just like the Taurus. The Fusion and MKZ are the mid-sized. The Taurus's competition is not the Camry, its the Avalon, Maxima etc. The Camry, Altima, Accord are the Fusions competition.

Avalon just got the ax, and the Accord is now classified as Full Size.
