2008 Mercury Mariner

Here's the link.

I like the exterior:

Not so sure about the interior:

I also wished they upgraded the powertrain instead of using the same 3.0L/4 sp. auto combo. At the very least they could have used the upgraded 3.0L/6 sp. auto from the Fusion/Milan.

Not a big fan of Escape/Mariner, but in my opinion current Mariner looks better.

I will wait to see next years redesign. Hopefully it is nice. Has anyone seen that new for '07 Hyundai Santa Fe? It's WORLDS nicer than the old one. Sure hope Ford coughs up a nice Escape.

Nooo, I've seen pictures right on this board of the updated Escape, and this isn't it. I almost positive it's for '08 that we'll see it.

That's because this is the Mariner, not the Escape.

The exterior looks much better. More Lincoln-esque. The interior is still just a tad too bland and yes that engine-trans combo has to get the boot.

The 3.0L isn't bad power wise for the vehicle but the transmission is just to clunky.

Yes, it is. I was surprised at how much pep my Escape has with the 3.0L. At the very least they should have put the 6 speed auto in it.
