Looking good.

Lots of my friends had these when I was in high school in 1989+

I remember them well.

Cool car Rick, I remember them well myself. My Grandmother had one, yes that right my Grandmother had an Escort GT. I hated those **** automatic shoulder belts, but I was little too, like 10. They hurt my neck, HAHAHA. Good luck with her, she looks very well cared for.

Really good looking Escort. And when the motor goes out, BPT or KLVE swap time

Evil_Capri Mar 16, 2010 11:41 AM

Always liked that body style Escort GT! :nice:

Yeah, 200hp from a stock n/a 3.0L v6  It's easier to do on your car than on mine, electronics wise. :shame: There's a lot of threads in mazdas24/7 about that swap.

I like the parking brake under the rear wheel. :D :nice:

My wife had a '86 and what a POS it was. All kinds of things went wrong with that car which was surprising because I had an '85 and it was solid as a rock. Slow as balls, but dead reliable.

My first car was the Escort, a 1992 model with 1.9L engine.

POS.

The slowest car I've ever driven was an 85 Escort wagon diesel. A friend had it, and holy crap. 0-60 was about a day and a half, but he claimed it got around 60 mpg. Take that, Prius. :p

Zastava_101 Oct 8, 2010 06:59 PM

That's pretty impressive.

I was averaging 30+ mpg with my 1992 Escort 1.8L ... sold it back in 2000 when I got my brand new Mustang.
