tune up or tune down

so i just installed ford racing 9mm wires, screaming demon coils. I have the BAMA tune 87-89 level 1 as well. After a couple 0-60 runs i feel like the car is a little sluggesh. When i bought the BAMA i didnt have the coils. Was wondering if changing the coils and regapping the plugs at 65 like they recommend might have changed my tune. The car feels the same and maybe even a bit slower mid-range. Next i was going to go to the BAMA level 2 and see what happens but before I do I was hoping to get any feed back on this.

When you say level 1 you mean just their street tune right? I never actually tried that on mine, I always used my 93 performance or 93 race tunes.

yes street. i was waiting to do the tune up before trying the better tunes. Level 2 is 91 tune. Hoping to get some gains.

I have heard some of the tunes sometimes need to be altered. I'm really wondering if the coils and the plug have messed up my power.?

The higher the octane, the better the tune is going to run. So I would definitely recommend loading up the 91/93 Performance or Race tune!

It doesn't sound like anything is wrong with your tune, since it was fine before the tune up. You don't need an updated tune for the new spark plugs either! Please give the bama team a call and we'll look into your tune for you though, just to be safe.

Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Loved my race tune.

Don't expect power out of aftermarket coils.... its not the 1970s anymore. Factory spark is much better than factory spark back then.. I would say no gain from coils.

cool. Im about to install the second tune. Should be fun. Will update.
