do i really need to put my time up here?

If you have run at the track go ahead and post up your time(s). If you have not run her plan to do so in '08! :nice:

future9er24 1/1/08 01:51 PM

Definatly take your GT to the track. Even if your time blows like mine, its fun as hell!

boduke0220 1/1/08 03:29 PM

I need to lol but the closest track it a 1/8th mile.
what would be good for my car in the 1/8th and 1/4th?

arin i tihnk you did really good. arent mid 14's good for SN95's

future9er24 1/2/08 02:43 AM

They're passable, and 14.745 is not what i call "mid"

I call it "high 14s"

Then again, I compare myself to the best test i could find online, whcih was about 13.somethingish lol. Maybe im being hard onmyself

Though, I did beat a pretty fast truck today, maybe im getting better...

pre 99 sn95. but in 99+ a GT should be good for a low 14 at just under 100.

What altitude is the track at near you Arin? 94 is extremely slow trap. My stock 99 GT used to trap 99mph.

Also just a tip, a stock GT will end the 1/4 mile in 3rd gear no need to waste time shifting to 4th.

future9er24 1/2/08 07:15 PM

Yeah, I remember you telling me that my shifting into 4th is what killed me. The track I was at was Infineon Raceway, and google says its at sea level.

I'm hoping to go whenever Arin goes next (he doesn't know yet). Any tips and tricks for a 94 GT? Shift points, what times I should expect, etc? Lemme know. :nice:

cntchds 1/27/08 01:43 PM

Lame.

Edit: it won't let you capitalize an entire word?

Shift between 5500-5800 rpm. Dead stock, with a good driver, high 14. I remember when the 94 came out, 14.9 was what Ford claimed and what most magazines averaged.

Anyone ran yet this year?? Track opens in 2 weeks here. Anxious to see if my new Carbon-Fiber D/S helps.

Went out last Sunday. Car is consistently running 12.50s. Beat up on 2 GTOs and a 04 Vette. The Vette owner came up to later in the staging lanes and tried to argue with me about who won. I beat him by about 1.5 - 2 car lengths. He had a slightly better time his 12.50 to my 12.51 but I had to remind him this wasn't bracket racing. :rofl2:

Best race I had all day was an 02 SS with H/C/I on 28" slicks. We were pretty much even until the 1/8. He had more hp and pulled on the big end. He ran a 12.23 to my 12.50. Must have surprised him because he came up to me later and congratulated me and said my car ran really good. Not to shabby for a little 281 with a few bolt-ons. :D

future9er24 3/26/08 10:40 AM

Guess I'll have to wait til summer

cntchds 3/26/08 12:39 PM

You had better call me up when you go. Did you need some sort of parental signing to let you race, or were you already 18?

future9er24 3/26/08 09:54 PM

I was 18. I think all you need is your drivers license

conv_stang 4/17/08 08:36 AM

Man....still waiting on my car to be finished. UGH i cant wait to hit the track!
