Returning to Mustangs

Sold my 2005 Mustang three years ago to finance a '99 Corvette. Still have the 'vette, but I just bought a 2003 Mustang GT with the automatic trans, and only 24,000 one owner miles. Came out of the estate of a 94 year old man. Love the car, and it's sort of a daily driver, but it needs more exhaust authority, and naturally, more power. Any suggestions? I'm 45 years old, and on a budget, so I don't want it to be like some teenager's hot rod, and I don't really want to go all out on the mods. Just looking for ideas on where to start, and still keep this thing the really nice car that it is. Thanks in advance.

Usually the best to start would be a cold air or Ram air intake and build up from there. For exhaust its all personal preference and how much you're willing to spend. And H or X pipe with a cat back is perfect but theres endless options on what to choose from.
