Rear springs installed!!!!
Rear springs installed!!!!
After two attempts at removing the old springs I came home from work today with a mission.... A mission to get THAT bolt (control arm to rear axle) so I could get the control arm to drop far enough to remove the spring.
That bolt was seized tight and whats worse is it had been Loctited as well as nylon nastiness safety nut. Came home with secret weapon.

That stuff works great and it doesnt smell even half as bad as WD40 and it hangs around longer. I am glad I took someones advice on the forums. This will always be in my collection now.
Well the bolt worked lose with a little encouragement from the breaker bar and I was able to put my new springs in. Thats the rear springs done and all I need to do now is the front. Should be fun.
Special thanks to Scott who recommended I replace the stock rubber isolators with new ureathane ones. Old ones were fine but the difference between the two is night and day.
Just thought I would share in my joy, shame I cant drive as there is a nasty ice storm whipping through at the moment and then Lake effect snow for the next week. At least it will give me an opportunity to get the fronts installed.

I will do when I eventually get out in it. Going to install front springs tonight after I unblock the drains. Wahoo. Will post pictures and detailed explanation on how to install when I am finished.
Well I have given up on installing the front springs. The bolts that hold the calipers on have taken there toll on me and I even broke my 15mm socket trying to take them out. Somebody else can install these for me now.
