Need to chose which to go with. Narrowed it down to 3 options (based on popularity and sound). I want a rich loud meaty sound.[u] Stock headers and stock H pipe for the moment, which I will change in time. If there is an option that I cannot miss then please let me know.

Please consider that I am an idiot and will be installing this myself. From the looks of it instalation looks quite easy and I dont mind attempting. If I can recondition the clutch on my bike I guess I can fit an exhaust but any tips would be greatly appreciated.

The future sound of my car is in your hands. I will post clips when I fit it.

Thanks.

i recently put borla stingers on my 99GT, absolutly perfect. compared to stock, they just give it a much cleaner rumble throughout all RPM ranges, not TOO loud.....best choice in my opinion.

I have a couple of people across the street one who owns a (what was)Civic and the other has some highly distorted rice thing (origin unknown). Imagine putting standard ricer in an oven and let it melt for a while and thats how it looks. I want to prove a point every time I fire up my V8 and make sure that when I pull up next to them at the lights and give my engine a little blip they just look at their steering wheel (that look of pre-defeat).

Looking like stingers or SLP.

Maybe it's just me.....but I hear that raspy kind of "weed-whacker" sound from SLP. It'll definately get you noticed, but it doesn't sound "muscle" enough for me.

Some people on Mustangexhaust.com love their SLPs. While others say:

SLP == Sucky Loud Pipes

Does that mean that you voted for 'Stingers"?

Yes siree.....for myself I'm looking Borla or Bassani cat back. Leaning towards Borla. Combo'ed with a MRT SS H pipe, or Bassani X mid-pipe.

But like I said before there are devout SLP fans.

I think of it this way:
SLP == loud
Borla == meaty

As long as you know what you want from the exhaust kit I don't think you'll be dissappointed either way.

Looks like I will be going for the Stingers then, hope your right and the money for them is worth the sound. I would still like to hear them on a stock setup just the catbacks with the stock headers and mids. Anybody has this and gets an opportunity then please post sound clip for me.

Not bought them yet so continue to vote, probably wont buy for another 2 weeks or so.

www.mustangexhaust.com you have to register to hear the clips, but they have tons of clips and videos of this.

In fact there are two members Swiss026(Borla) and Ghost Rider(SLP), that go at it in a head to head video.

Swiss026 didn't want to anger the Mounties(Canada) so he didn't go "all" out, but it's a good video.

http://www.mustangexhaust.com/forums/showt...ght=swiss+ghost

Here's the topic, but the video expired. Go check it out...ask one of them to re-host it.

It's a good video. In their own words they describe it like this:

SLP == raw, very loud, and more aggressive
Borla == deeper, quiter, and more tone

Here's Swiss026's(from MustangExhaust.com) Borlas:

http://media.putfile.com/Borla_Stingers_Movie

Here's what I was looking for:
http://www.mustangexhaust.com/forums/showt...ght=ghost+video

This has several videos from a guy(Ghost Rider) who switched from Flowmaster....to SLP, and then there's the SLP vs Borla video at the bottom. Slight WW for a "bad word" here or there.

Thanx Matt. Wish I could hear them in person to get a better idea. Love the Borla tone and how loud the SLP are. Arggghhhhhhhh.
So your leaning towards Borla as well huh? Think it might be the right choice, would like to go with mac o/r mid and just swap for stock for inspection but thats down the road at the moment and I'm not too concerned about that.

I haven't heard the Borla Exhaust but I've got SLP on mine and they are loud. Everyone I've come across love the sound of the SLP's because they say it sounds more like a 60's muscle car than the other Mustangs they've seen. Mine may also sound a bit different since I have the Cobra SLP Exahust to avoid the IRS and the Super Carger may also be changing the sound for me too. But All I can say is that they sound great over stock exhaust.

But maybe you should find some local people in your area that have 1 or the other just to compare in person.

Why did you do this to me? Sooooo many options. Tell me stinger so I can just go and do it. The problem is i love the sound from stingers and the LM's. I really want that muscle car sound. As you may have read earlier I have to live with the ricer movement on my street. I want to pull out of my driveway, open her up and have them looking out of their windows wondering whats going past.

Thanx for your opinion.

I'm sure there's a Mustang Club in NY that meets every week. See what it sounds like in person.

my brothers car has loudmouth 1 on his S/C Bullitt and the car sounds awesome... not real meaty though... but i hear the LM 2 is better for the low pitch growl then the LM 1...so LM2 is what i voted.

Yea.....if you're looking for a Muscle Car sound.....you might want an H-pipe over an X-pipe for your mids. Here's a fav of mine(Borla and MRT H-pipe):

Thats what I'm after!! Good sound clip, deep, loud and meaty. I dont know of any clubs here in NY (apart from NYC 6hr drive), but only had the car a month so when the snow clears I'm sure future friends will apear on the roads.
