well starting having shift issues, while driving the clutch stuck a bit then after I got it un stuck, the trans would not let me shift out of gears very easy or into gears with out more or less slamming into gears or grinding 2nd, I am hopeful its just a clutch cable issue which I bought today, just hoping this won't be a take it to the shop deal and it can be done in my garage (trying to stay out of the heat...)

well good news and I guess not so good news for buddy...
the not so great news is when shifting into 2nd gear there is a grinding noise as I get into 2nd (im guessing the syncro is either fubarred or its not catching as it should...) but the good news is I managed to replace the clutch cable and the issue I was having with having to slam the gears went away (yay) so I can at least shift the gears now...

Jackpad review
Well I have had a bit of time to "play" with the jack pad, and figured now is as good of a time to put up the review (been working on Buddy the past week so I received it at a great time) got the new clutch cable in, and also completed the tyre rotation as well!!
first off looking at the boxes it looks like they are hand made which I really do love, and looking at the current pad (yes there are multiple incarnations of this device and feel by far this one is the nicest one so far (I am betting they will come up with more and better ones)
Looking at the box is states that this was "designed in the USA", doesn't really mention what the country of Origin is (I'm assuming USA) but thats not a game killer for me here, and as far as receiving the jack pad? well it took longer then I wanted but I am going to blame FedEX on that score as I called them up and then the next day they managed to get it to me, so I will just say that was more on FedEX, not ZL1.
anyways moving onto the product its self, I personally would have made it a tiny bit wider as it doesn't seem to fit over the whole pinch wield, but I'm starting to think thats something with the car and being driven a lot as it has been, so I will be looking more into that, at first I did place it on the wield and it just dropped off, so I am not sure again if I just misplaced it on the pinch point (thinking I did) as when I placed it on the rear point it stayed up perfectly, and it got the car down much faster then by going with the jack and under frame points.
Looking at the quality you can clearly see that time was taken to design and test the device as its made out of what appears to be aluminum (possibly aircraft grade?) and I even tossed it around the garage a bit and dropped it on the floor (I don't suggest doing this to your jackpad) and it survived any thing I threw it at, even survived being ran over by mistake with the F150 (sorry didn't get a picture of that as I didn't plan on running it over) but it came out prett much unscathed aside from some very minor scratching of the finish (which I half expected), honestly the floor jack I used (ACDelco) seemes to have torn up the finish a slight bit more then me trowing it around
(before I started tossing it about the garage)
below is the jack I used and yes I plan to upgrade it to a better floor jack here in the near future
Here is the jack being placed on the pinch point
the pad being used with my floor jack
Over all I truly am impressed with the jack pad and with out question will be keeping it in the glove box of Buddy so I can easily lift the car up if I need to change a flat tyre (I usually keep the floor jack pictured in the boot) I also love the "remove before flight" tag as well (I removed it during my testing of the device) but love that it is a high quality feeling denim/embroidery type material, and looks also as if two distinct sides were used as the "remove before flight" tag is readable on both sides! the only minor quip I can even think of with this product is the remove before flight is upside down and backwards on the one side of the tag (its reading rigt to left verses left to right) but thats not much of a game killer to me, as I don't notice it much.
Comfort: N/A
Ease of use 10 of 10
Ease to clean 10 of 10 (just rinse and dry if needed)
Ease of install 10 of 10 (just set in place, the magnets do the holding)
Installation: easy (novice experience)
Time to install: 30 seconds (or approximately)
Fun factor: N/A
Overall impression: impressed
recommended product for show cars or just general street use: yes
Overall score 10
Would I recommend this to others: Heck yes I will
tools needed: None for the jack pad use, floor jack required for lifting car
every thing is included in the kit as far as parts go

Looks cool, I wish I had something like that, but I really need a low profile jack too. Right now to get the front end up, I have to use the spare tire jack to get one side up slightly so I can maneuver the floor jack under the front bumper and down under the motor to the jacking point. It sucks.

Not sure if it was a good idea or just plain insane for me to do, but I just ordered a CAI, Bamma tuner with 3 tunes and free tunes for life and a clutch quadrant (Maximum Motorsports Aluminum Clutch Quadrant) all to the tune of $503.00 and some change...Buddy is going to get some goodness installed over the weekend (or my next day off)...yay!
on a side note im wondering if perhaps I should have ordered the one from Ford racing...

Well got an email from AM that part of the order shipped (I know the tuner may take a bit of time so I'm fine with waiting for that to show up)

Getting the spring off the old quadrant can be a *****, so get a great flashlight so you can see, and be prepared to take a while.
For me, I took out the seat, and laid down in the floor (folded up towel covering the seat studs) with my feet up in the back seat so I could see what I was doing.

well I will be pulling the seat once I get more time then just a day or two to really sit down and do this right, but from the looks of it it says I need to have a firewall adjuster, so I am hoping thats not true....if it is im well SOL at this point until I get one....uuug....anyways on the other new front I got the cai installed, but have a hole that I need to figure out what goes into it....something is missing!!! some IAT, and I looked on my old air box and for the life of me can't find it....will be calling AM tomorrow as this is a bit irritating....(queue Alex to jump into thread now)....but I am happy I got the CAI installed and can't wait to get my Bama tune!!
here is the old verses new for compairison...perhaps another set of eyes can help locate the IAT???

Got the bama tuner (yay), sadly it doesn't even want to update its self, and it keeps saying "please update " but I suppose a call to Bama is in order for today!
