Attack of the Clone
Hey Folks! I'm finally posting pics of my ride in here. I've had it for over a year now and getting some much needed work done to it. I bought it from my brothers buddy who has a mechanic shop up in Victorville, CA. He had it sitting there for a few years and finally decided he wanted to sell it due to space constraints. I got a great deal on it, $1300. Aside from being a Saleen Clone, my brothers buddy told me the previous owner had just rebuilt the motor when he acquired it, and that it was fast as hell. I can tell you, it's fast as hell. Not sure exactly what internals were added to it, but it definitely has some goodies. The pic with the hood open was taken a few days after I got it. As you can see, it had busted headlights and a really crappy front tire. It also had some of those ugly euro tail lights that I eventually changed out for the black saleen tail lights (non-saleen, just black). I've always been a fan of the SR 351 Spoiler, so I'm definitely leaving that on. The previous owner definitely put some good money in making it a clone. The wheels are Saleen as is the Spoiler. Im not sure why he put on 281 badging on it, so that's something I'll be changing out soon and put 302 saleen badging. So there it is, a rundown of my car.
Anyhoo, I've always loved the 95' Saleen's and look forward to when I can own a real 95' 351 Saleen. For now, this is good start. Needs work all around as it sat there for a long time. It only had 3 Saleen Wheels when I got it, but I was able to get a pair for $240. Not bad I think. Thank you all for looking and can't wait to share the WIP with all of you.
*side note, the pics were adjusted a bit to make the paint job look nicer in some pics. I definitely need a new paint job.
