Question Mach 1 Spoiler

I was attempting to fit my Mach 1 spoiler yesterday. I started a rough fit and noticed that it will not fit the whole way around flush to the front. I was wondering if someone had fitted one and had a photo of the wheel well positioning.
I know that the front end has to be set back a little but I need to know if the same is true with the ends at the wheel wells or if they sit flush to the body.
Another option I guess is that they sit flush at the wheel wells and gradually taper inwards towards the front in a slight curve.
Also how am I supposed to drill the bumper from underneath? The drill wont fit under the car!!!
Please help, also any hints welcome. Next will be my throttle body.

The correct installation is that it should be flush with the rear, but a lot of people prefer them flush with the front. It's your car; do what you like!

I like the look better with it flush at the back meeting the wheel wells.

As far as install, put the front of your car on ramps, or park it in a yard or something that has a curb and drive the front wheels just to the edge of the curb, that way you have an extra 5-6" of room.

To mount the chin spoiler, get some clear box tape or masking tape, have someone help hold it into place, and line it up where you want it, then use hte tape to hold it into place against the front bumper. Drill your holes all the way around, put in the center push pin and the 2 outter ones that are closest to the wheel well. Then put in the rest of the push pins. If you dont have enough, go to autozone or somehwere, you can get all you need for just a few bucks.

Mine must have been installed on a 1/2 day Friday since it isn't flush with the wheel wells.

After more looking, im thinking the correct installation is with it flush on the front. http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/show...h/99/index.htm

I can't account for what the factory did on some cars, but it was designed to be installed flush with the wheel wells.

If I fit it flush at the front it will fall about an inch short at the wheel wells which in my opinion looks nasty but I prefer it to sit flush with the front. I see a niche market product. Extra 2" would make all the difference. Will probably drill when jacked up when I install springs. Any tips on the spring install?

I don't know about 2", but 1/4 to 1/2" would make it flush both front and back.

If you are pulling the springs out.. i would reaplce the stock rubber isolators with some poly urethane ones, like you get from www.maximummotorsports.com... also would look at rear bump stop if you are lowering the car more than 1". The one from MM is a bit shorter and will keep you from bottoming out on the car, but also not bottoming out on the stock rubber bumper.

**** tricky, we're pretty much moving at the same pace.

Had my springs for a while but haven't had a chance to put them on and I'm getting my chin spoiler tomorrow. I think I want mine installed flush to the wheel well but I'm going to tape it up both ways to see which way I prefer. I also got a set of Mach 1 wheels today. Unfortunately, 2 were a little scratched up and will need to be returned. Good thing it's winter and I’m not in a hurry to get things on.

The Eibach Pro Kit comes with rear bump stop included in kit. Should lower 1 1/4" but since I ate all the cookies over Christmas I am worried about hitting ground. Will look into the isolators. Thanks.

Yes, looks like we have a few things in common. Manual? Get the Tri Ax. Cant wait to try it out. Might fit my throttle body over next few days.
Got many pictures of installs and will post write up soon.

Nah, auto. TB is next on my list but I also want to do gears soon as well so I'm going to wait until I have enough for both and get them done at the same time since I will need new tunes for each and I'd rather only have to update the tunes once instead of twice.

Well I fitted my throttle body and sspoiler yesterday. Throttle body only took about 1 hour and that included drilling 2 of the old screws out. Cleaner and much faster response in engine, a LOT quicker through the revs. Not able to drive at the moment so wont know for sure what kind of change it made. Have pictures of install and will post a write up soon.
Installed the spoiler with it flush to the wheel wells and gently taped towards the front. The only way it can look in my opinion. Didnt look right with it not flush at the wheel wells where as it looks fine at the front being set back 1/2".

No not yet. I think I may try my hand at tuning it myself. I have the laptop hooked up to the XCal and I dont mind taking my time and slowly tinkering with it. I know its probably not that great an idea but it will give me another way to learn about my car. Dont learn unless you get your hands dirty. As long as I take things real slow and dont change the parameters too much I cant see any real harm coming from this.
I should get my GtechPro soon so that should help with my tuning a little.
