I hate people; the bullitt was broken into

Last night I had two of my friends over, one left around 10pm, another hung out for a while. We went to Taco Bell at around 11, and then just drove around for a while. Got home at 12:30 and went immediately to bed. Mom said that around 1am she went to make sure i was home, and saw my car and went back to sleep

This morning I wake up at 6am hearing dad knocking on my door asking "what happened?"

I went outside and this is what i see

And my GPS is missing. I put it away when I go most places, but I figured in my driveway, the closest spot to the house and WITH two cars and a motorcycle in front of it all, I would be safe.

This is our driveway. my car goes in front of the II right by the garage door. theres still another good 10ish feet of driveway behind me in the picture. That should give you an idea of how far whatever pathetic @#$&er who's been patrolling my neighborhood had to walk.

Also, in our culdesac, 2 cars have been stolen in 6ish months, theres always broken beer bottles around the cars in the morning, and alot of unsavory types hanging around ive noticed later at night.

....Man that bites Arin. I would feel violated. I hope this will be isolated. I'd be really concerned once these things start happening, they tend to repeat themselves. You need to figure out a way to take precautions and never leave anything in that car in your driveway again.

Whats wrse Gary is that this car is the closest one to the house. We have a studio in the back of our house thats been broken into before, this is bringing back memories I'm not very fond of. All I can say is I'm **** glad I have 6 guns in the house

I started thinking, its a good thing the motorcycle is in front of and mom's BMW was behind the II

That car is alot easier to steal.

The alarm in the Bullitt didn't even go off because no one opened the door. I think I'm going to put an NRA decal on one of the windows of the Bullitt. It seems to have detered vandalism from the II...

Arin is not in his happy place.

I doubt it. We drove to the nearby taco bell, got food through the drive through, drove up to the community college up in the mountainss where we ate and I had a cigar, and then I came home. There was no one on the road

The officer that came by said this has been happening alot; people walking around, and looking in cars to see if there are GPS systems and such, but even she was surprised that someone went that far into our reasonably long driveway

someone is just prowling around

Be careful in California, I don't know if you can protect property there with letal force, I know in Texas you can even protect your neighbors property with lethal force, but I don't think they look to well on that in Cali. Also remember, never pull a gun unless you are fully prepared to use it and accept the consequences of its use.

I know Gary, and in CA you're boned unless you or an innocent life were in danger. But if anything, a gun is comforting to have around the house "just in case" and in a robbery situation, it will be useful for intimidation and telling the SOB to get on the ground until the police arrive

Sounds good Arin. I was just making sure. Didn't want something bad to happen to you because of some @sshole.

See in Texas they wouldn't have the ***** to do this because me or my neighbor could walk out and shoot them dead for this crap. It does work as a deterrent. Not to say crime doesn't happen in Texas, but that crook has to have it in the back of their mind that hey I could die for breaking into this car.

Thanks Batman

I like the GPS, even when I'm not using it. Its like I'm in the Millennium Falcon. Its my "navigation computer "

Plus, it likes to make adventures happen. It once took cammy and I on a ridiculous roundabout trip to a taco bell 30 miles away when I wanted the one 470 yards away. its fun to have it talk. We decided to just go along with it since we were bored. It ended up being a pretty awesome night, because we hadn't been spending enough time together.

It'd be too hard to explain how much fun that was. the GPS will be missed his name was quincy

This line might have changed my perception of the GPS.

I think the batmobile is also not complete without a "navigation computer"

Also just so you know, if this crime would have happened in my city, I would have solved this heinous act for you by now.

Sorry, man. This sounds like a classic crime of opportunity.

Your thief probably walked the whole area in the wee hours, looking in car after car for an easy hit. Most likely it has gone to the pawn shop, and the money has been spent on crack.

What a miserable way to live.

That sucks arin, I just saw the status on Facebook. That's one of the things I'm worried about with getting my dad a GPS for his car, he's in and out of it so much on his route, it's a minor hassle to install and take it out 25-30 times a day, and I know with our luck he'd forget once, and it would get stolen. You could also put a "beware of owner" sign in the front yard

oh and also, some insurance companies will pay for a new GPS and window, or at least, I believe they do

If anything, seeing/hearing a gun being loaded (esp the shotguns) is as big of a deterrent as actualy firing a shot, I believe that 95% of the time, you could **** an unloaded shotgun, and deter the thieves

Don't worry, I'm buying that sign

forgot to add: the insurance is covering my GPS, which is nice. Our deductible is the cost of the GPS system, so it still seems worth it to have them do it

and the only problem with the noise scaring, is my only pump shotgun has a long barrel, for trap shooting, and its unweildy indoors. I have a side by side shorter barreled one for "home defense".... and for pretending I'm mad max

That sucks! Before I bought my Mustang, I had a Cavalier with about 5k worth of steryo equipment in it. It was broken into one night, and everything was stolen out of it. Since that happened, I have not put anything inside of my Mustang or Corvette that someone would want to steal.
