Yes i finally got my first car. Its a 95 5.0 GT, I think the color is laser red. Got it from the local pick n pull for 1300. She's a lil' ruff but I think Its fine for me, a 15 year old. I'm really learning how to do work on my own car with this one. So far i have filled dents but I need some work on that!! I took off the spoiler and filled the holes which actually came out pretty good. I'm just really happy to finally get the car.:banana:

Looks great man! You sound a lot like me with my 94. I got it just before I turned 16.

Yeah lol i turn 16 next month. I'm wondering if anybody on here can help me with my bondoing though. Its not really thick or anything but when i prime it to see if theres any spots that need touch up, i can see the outline and i can also feel the little differences but it looks pretty flush. I can post pics if anyone feels like helping.

first of all welcome to TMS, and congrats on the car. Its a great start with alot of potential :nice:

As for the bondo work, I did some on my '76. from what you describe (being able to feel it) you might want to sand some more to make it totally flush. when I was filling holes for trim on my car, i got it smooth enough to not feel it, but when i sprayed over it, you could still see the spots until i went over it with a few more coats.

Give it some fine tuning, and then you should be good :nice:

Well i plan on first getting her running good. She's got a problem i think it might be the clutch, when the car accelerates there is this weird noise that sounds like theres something scratching against somethin'. But right now i'm just working on the body because it had two good sized dents in it. Then after that I'm going to probably have my uncle paint it and stuff cause he's really good :) But after it's running good I want to get a CAI, maybe some SLP loudmouths!!lol. I need to get some Interior dye because I don't like the tan / black combo. I'm going to try and get as good set of Bullitt rims from craigslist, smoked headlights and 96 stock taillights.

Well, ok, since you asked nicely :) I would suggest you first make a good 'ol tune up. Also, check the engine compression to see if it needs to be rebuilt soon or if it can hold a bit more, so you can save $ to do it.

It surprised me that it has that mileage, since your engine looks WAY nicer than mine. lol

Ok, well i dont know how to check the compression should i be able to find that on google? I don't know if the person before me did anything to it in terms of rebuilding or anything, but i cant help but think that they might have done some work cause' to me it doesn't sound stock.

Also I this weird noise during acceration and since I havent actually driven the car I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, but its like a scratchy noise almost as if two metal parts are rubbing together it does this once it gets moving and acceleration ect. My step father thinks it might be the clutch and you cant hear it just when its sitting, so I dont know but what do you think? I might be able to get a video

btw I'm going to get my mom to buy me some smoked headlights since mine need to be replaced

You will have to take it to a mechanic to have the compression tested. It requires a compression tester. The test consist of disabling the coil so the engine won't run, then you have to remove one spark plug at a time, screw in the tester, and start the engine w the throttle wide open till the gauge stops rising, no more than 5 seconds. A thech manual should tell how much difference in psi can be had between cylinders, as well as a minimum allowed compression pressure.
It may be the trow out bearing. If you press the clutch a little and the noise stops, it definitely is that. It's a part that is subject to heavy wear, since it has to spin at the same rpm as the engine every time the clutch pedal is pushed.
