97 Mustang GT

I have a 1997 Mustang GT its black with black interior and had is a 5-speed with the mach audio system and well here just recently my trip ometer and mileage gauge just stoped working and i was wanting to know is this common or what could it be nd how can i fix it

The gears in the gauge cluster have broken. Very common, I actually just replaced the ones in my 95 gt. They fell to peices when I got them out.

The same thing happened to mine a couple years ago, i never fixed it... I think $40 is kinda steep. I guess my resale is a non issue because of how old the car is I just change the oil every 3 months

It is a lot for what you get, but it takes about 15 min to change.

I guess that helps a little bit but I think the value of my car has already bottomed out

Yea, mine as well. But since mine only has 66k on it I wanted to try and keep it fairly accurate. If only for myself.

LOL my is stuck at 89xxx at the time it died my car was legitimately low miles for it's age. All things considered my 97gt is in excellent condition, perhaps I'll make the fix before/if I sell the car its probably at about 110-115k by now

My car has 148k on it and the only clusters that don't work are temp, oil, and gas. Other than those the speedo and trip is spot on
