20 " wheels

Hello from a new forum user over in the UK

I am seriously tempted to fit 20" rims on my car but would like to see pictures of a similar car to mine with this size of wheel. I am hoping to eliminate the big gap between tyre and fender. I am hoping a slightly larger overall diameter will lift the car by approx 1", then I can safely lower the suspension without catching my exhausts on our speed humps which are everywhere in suburban Britain

Any pics would be appreciated

thanks
Paul

I think the largest you can go is 19 but I'm not sure about that so dont quote me. Yeah I know how you feel about those sleeping policeman. Totally destroyed front spoiler I custom built for my friends 309 GTI. Thought I had left enough clearence but suspension travel wasnt taken into account. Glad I left those speed bumps behind.
HOPE YOU ARE ENJOYING THE SPEED CAMERAS!!!! AMERICA HAS NOT FIGURED IT OUT YET BUT I'M GONNA BE IN TROUBLE WHEN IT DOES!!!

Run the 18" 's save you **** from the jaring and jumble. The wheel base is just a bit short for 20" rims. If you bottom out it will bang the heck out your rear suspension. It will handle great with 20's but everyday tumbling gets old after a while.I had to reply..I used to live in Bedford.Pat
