I may be late in the game or just oblivious, but are our rear seats vinyl?? I mean what the heck I paid the extra for the premium and received vinyl on my back seats instead of leather?? Please let me know, sorry if a re-post. :nice:
Matt |
People went back and forth on this for a week in another thread, but someone dug up a ford dealer brochure that specifically stated that the ICAP had front and rear leather seating surfaces.
|
Yes the back seat is not leather :notnice: . The only leather is the seating surfaces of the front seats, not even the sides or backs of those are leather. Sorry to let you down.
|
Here we go again.

haha, so if I do not have ICAP then my back seats are vinyl (which I do not have ICAP)?? Man this stinks!!

Here's some more info for you.
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...&hl=vinyl&st=20 If it's just the ICAP that's leather, than maybe that's why they charge extra for red, but not grey or tan. :dunno: |
darn!!!!!

My back seats are cloth... ;)

You just have to compare the fake perforations that are molded into the vinyl, to the real ones that are cut into the leather on the fronts! It is very obvious that the rear is vinyl if you just take a close look! The only leather used in the '05, like on my previous '03, is on the forward facing seating surfaces of the front seats. In other words, only the parts of the front seats that come in contact with your body. Check for yourself it's true. Paul |
Just like the original Mustangs, 1965 onward - 100% vinyl seating! They are staying true to the theme, very retro!
|
I never plan on riding in my back seat, so I don't care! :-D
|
Yes, I was skeptical myself and wouldn't believe it. BUT It's true, the back seats are vinyl. They did a good job with it though, the only way I could tell was my very own "wrinkle" test.
Take your finger and depress it into you're font seat, you'll see fine little wrinkles form around your finger. Leather does that, it wrinkles. Now do the same thing on the rear seats... no wrinkles... vinyl! I'm never back there anyway :-D :dunno: |

Yeah, who cares, its the back seat, and I don't plan on letting anyone back there or being back there! I'm almost 6'4", and with the driver's seat where I want it, there's about 1" of legroom for someone to sit behind me! I wouldn't let anyone back there, there's a chance they might scuff that leather...........ummmm I mean vinyl!

Sorry, Ford, but is it so expensive to actually use LEATHER for your leather seats??? That's lousy, really! |
Wow, you realize this is a ten year old thread right? :poke:
What's funny for my Pony is the vinyl looks good but the "leather" is cracked and splitting. Good times. |
I hope someone from 2092 necros this thread and says " so are you guys still mad about your seats not being real leather?"
