Trunk Panel Insert

Hey guys I just installed a trunk panel insert and it really cleans up the unfinished business in the trunk. That bare area was hideous!

Looks nice. The only problem I see with the majority of the trunk inserts out there is that they don't cover the area to the sides of the trunk latch/lamp cover. I have designed and started to make an insert for my vert that covers the entire area under the lid. I will post pics when it is finished.

That look's GREAT. I was just wondering if you had the Shaker 1000 system. It looks like you painted the sub box. That really makes a difference. If you do have the Shaker system, how did you go about painting the box? Mine look's really plain and I would like to paint it the same color as my GT now that I've seen how good yours looks!!

The guy at GrandDesign is good to work with. I've got one of those too. You can get them with all kinds of overlays and designs. The basic fabric matches the trunk material very closely. Looks like OEM.

+1 with what Northwest said. Phil is a great guy and can and do custom work. He created my trunklid mat, which is my screen name on Bad Mustangs Club, and I love it! Get compliments all the time, and have people take pictures of it at shows. Check out the pic taken yesterday at GOOTC by a fellow member at the show. Though its hard to tell by the angle taken, the letters are mirrored plexiglass.

That looks nice, but I think I am in the "leave it" group. The only time I see that part of the car is when I am loading groceries or something. Just not worth the time, money or weight (I know, it doesn't weight much, but still) as far as I'm concerned.

On the other hand, I'm glad your happy with your upgrade!

Thats fine bud. Its a mod that isn't for everyone. But since I show my car on a consistance basis, I always have the trunklid open (its where the 1st aid kit and fire extinguisher are kept) and at large shows, people know me by my screen name. Its an easy way to figure out who's car it is.

I do have the shaker 1000. It is pretty easy to paint the sub box or have it painted. I removed it had it painted torch red and had upgraded subs put into it. I got the trunk panel insert because I am in a lot of car shows and keep the trunk open to get judged on the stereo work that I had done in the trunk. With 475hp I am not too worried about the added weight from the foam and carpet insert LOL!

I bought mine from CDC. It's okay but quite expensive for what it is. I'll never put anything into these little trays, just keep it as cover.
