Hey Guys

$600.00 sound like alot money? :dunno:

B) coolfords

Boomer 10/21/04 07:31 AM

Yes, worth it.

TMSBrad 10/21/04 07:33 AM

Agreed. You'll want it.

JZInternet 10/21/04 07:35 AM

I wonder if you could get something better for that price in aftermarket. Does that shaker 500 option improve give more watts or better speakers than just the standard cd player?

TMSBrad 10/21/04 07:35 AM

Yes, I think the base system is 180 watts. Of course if you're getting a GT, the Shaker 500 comes standard.

joeuser42 10/21/04 07:37 AM

I wasn't interested in it at all initially, but decided to get it strictly for the MP3 player.

Oh I didn't know that. cool then I guess I'm set. How much was that shaker 1000 option again. ::to lazy to check:: B)

TMSBrad 10/21/04 07:46 AM

I was wrong; the base stereo in the V6 is an anemic 80 watts with 4 speakers. The Mach 1000 is a $1770 on the Deluxe GT, and $1295 on Premium V6s and GTs.

Duckman 10/21/04 07:48 AM

The shaker 1000 is a 1295 dollar upgrade......How bad do you want it????

ItsNotABulliT 10/21/04 07:48 AM

Aftermarket stereos normally sound better than anything out of the factory, but I havent heard either system yet, but for what they are charging, it should be very nice.

yur1279 10/21/04 07:49 AM

Brad, I think the shaker 500 only comes standard in the GT premium.

But you may be able to delete it for credit. The GT I was checking out in Smithfield, VA had the standard single CD/radio combo. No Shaker!

I'm thinkin' I'll just be coo with the Shaker 500 until I can get a new head unit that will drive satelite and .... well.... for example, the Kenwood Keg.... it's a hard drive that sits in the trunk.... I think 80Gb and you just scroll thru a menu and find what you want to listen to..... you can make play lists and everything. Kinda like mp3 disks, but it's all on the hard drive and you can store the information in wav format, which is how it comes off the CD before it's converted to mp3... that way you're not loosing the sound quality by storing only mp3s

JustAnotherDude 10/21/04 08:19 AM

GT Deluxe: Shaker optional

GT Premium: Shaker 500 included

M-squared 10/21/04 08:29 AM

I think the shaker 500 is going to be what just about everyone gets in their GT's. I am not too sure that a lot of people are going to want the 1000, however, I am going to go with the 1000 just because. Maybe I should think of a better reason to get the 1000????

clintoris 10/21/04 08:42 AM

I would consider the Shaker 1000 if it was less expensive...... or if I didn't already have an amp and a satelite receiver layin' around. I don't want to bother installing them in my Bronco, because they're better quality equipment than my Bronco is worthy of.... just to pull it back out when I get my Stang. Plus, my truck has already been broken into and all my ish jacked. So... so I guess, had I not that other equipment to consider, I'd probably go with the 1000.... seein' as I already get a break on the car being an X-plan member. I would say that the 1000 is a pretty descent deal. If you do the math, you're going to pay that much for a similar system...... you'll probably get a better appearance, however, by going with something aftermarket.

V6 Deluxe and GT Deluxe - 4 speaker (160-watt ) standard
V6 Deluxe and GT Deluxe - 8 speaker (500-watt) optional (Shaker 500)
V6 Premium and GT Premium - 8 speaker (500-watt) standard (Shaker 500)
V6 Premium and GT Premium and Deluxe - 10 speaker (1000-watt) optional (Shaker 1000)

I looked at all the options when it came down to the radio. I ended up ordering the standard radio. I've pulled every stock radio out of all my vehicles and went aftermarket. I'm going to do the same thing with this one. I'm not knocking the Shaker systems, but they are not for me. I'll play with my system until I get it just the way I want it. I already have XM and that will be going in with the new head unit. Sony has a brushed aluminum look on one of their head units that looks like it will fit right in with the IUP. What it boils down to is personnal preference. Choose what you want....its your Mustang.
