Shaker 500 vs. Shaker 1000 Differences
#1
I ordered the Shaker 1000 and when I got my car, it had the Shaker 500 only.
I know the difference is the subs and amps in the trunk and the head unit, but are the other regular speakers (in the doors and on the rear deck) different in the Shaker 1000?
In other words, are they a different model of speakers so they can handle the 1000 watts vs. 500 watts?

As far as I know. the existing speakers are the same. Only differences are the ones you pointed out.
Make sure your dealer didn't charge you the price of a 1000 if you received a 500.

After hearing the Shaker 500, it sounds pretty good to me although I've never heard the Shaker 1000. It has good bass but I do like the thumping bass that the Shaker 1000 should have.
I just might ask for the refund and buy a DVD player head unit.

Nope, the ONLY difference is in the 2x10" box with accompanying amps. That's it. Now, I just want to be able to purchase the enclosure without the$0.25 subwoofers. I don't have the ability to build with plastic myself, and that obviously fits really well.

I'm with Infinity on this one. The Shaker 500 and 1000 have the exact same hardware front to rear except for the rear sup and the 4 amps that drive them (one per voice coil for each of two subs).
And the little "Shaker 500" label will say "Shaker 1000" instead...
