Scosche Enclosure - Mounting Depth?
Does anyone know the mounting depth for the Scosche FDMUS05U enclosure? Thanks

I will pretty much echo what rfbandit said. Don't know the exact mount depth, and the paperwork doesn't say. But I doubt you are going to have any issues putting whatever you want in to it.
Why not just spend the extra $60 and get the unit that comes with a sub included? That way there will be no doubt about fitment. It is actually a pretty darn nice sub. I am driving one with one with one amp ( 2 amps per unit ) from one of my Kicker KX650-4s in mono and it down right thumps.

I'm hoping to go with one of these or the MTX or Q-Logic unit with either a Tumult 12 (if they force a single 12 on me), or if one of the companies will make it, I'll use the pair of Elemental e10k's (flatcone) that I already have. Either way, they get a Memphis 1000d on them.
I just ordered my amp and 12in sub this week. I'm thinking about getting this same Scosche unloaded box for it versus building my own box. I know this box is 1.2cuft. Can someone with it installed take a picture of it in the trunk? Thanks a lot.
How does this box sound? I am a bass player and I live for music that most car setups cant handle. After I got the Marcus Miller CD Silver Rain I has to redo my 330s entire setup, I now have a nice JL 10 in the back, and all new infinity stuff in the front. Sound quality is great and it can take anything I throw at it.

The sound of the box will depend largely on the driver chosen. The details say this box has a solid construction but take that with a grain of salt. Maybe someone who has one can comment on that though. At 1.2cuft it should yield a high Q for most 12 inch speakers, which is good in a car (.9 or less). Some 12's designed for smaller boxes will work better.
FYI, here's a good spreadsheet for building sealed and ported boxes : Speaker Box Designer.

OK, ran out this morning and snapped a couple of pictures of the Scosche box.
Excuse the sun washout, my driveway faces east. I REALLY wish Ford wasn't quite so cheap. They did not carpet the trunk completely. No carpet under where the factory sub box was. So now I have a big hiney bare spot.

Doc, thanks a lot for getting that pic. My amp/sub just arrived this morning. I'm going to go ahead and order one of those boxes so I can put it all in next week. In your opinion, how is the quality of the box? I know you got it with the speaker so you didn't peek inside, but does it feel solid and sturdy? And also, was it angled and shaped on the back side or just flat? Thanks again.
Actually I was quite surprised at how solid it felt. My only female dog is that the way that they designed for you to mount it does not necessairly work if you had the existing skipper sub in the trunk. You have to break out a hammer and a jar of vasoline to get it on the existing mounting bolts.
At 1.2 cubes, that would work excellently with a Brahma, Magnum, W6v2, either Elemental, Titanic, XXX, and several others I can think of. Maybe a mounting plate and put a 10" driver with a 3" snake tube to port it!!! I have a few ideas brewing!
Ya know, I would offer to help ya out... but it really is kind of a PITA to get it out with the factory bolts sticking out of the trunk for the skipper box. I have the paperwork but it has no dementions on it. I can tell you ( and as you can see from the pictures ) it fits in there quite nicely, and goes all the way to the inner fender. It is pretty deep. Basically, measure inside the floor of your trunk from the inner fender to about 1 inch from the inside end of your taillight housing and that is how deep it is.
After seeing the pics I did measure it. It's good to know that it goes all the way in. There goes my idea for mounting the amp to the back side of the enclosure. I'm going to order it along with a JL Audio 12w6v2 and hope it fits. Thanks for the info. It's going to make for a nice writeup.

Nothing wrong with Kicker amps. Nice setup, Hawg. If someone had bought my Memphis amps, I would have went with 2 of the 550.3's and a 1200.1. Of course, they're so big I would have lost the entire rear of the car.
That's a pair of 650.4s, and as you can see, they BARELY fit. No way I will ever be able to get the end caps on them. I'm glad it turned out like it did though because I had no desire to turn my trunk in to a glove box. Been there, done that.
There's no way to mount an amp behind the enclosure. I made a bracket to mount it to the side of the enclosure and to the underside of the rear deck. Also, as was mentioned, it is a PITA to use the mounting bolts supplied by Scoshe. Go to Lowes and buy an allen head screw thats the same size and use it on the upper mount. For the lower mount, I ran one of the bolts supplied up from the bottom and used the wingnut.

Just put the amp on the back of the rear seat. That is where I mounted both of mine.

Hey Hawgman,
I was looking at mounting my amps on the back as well. Do you know if those are the only solid mounting points on the backs of the seats? Along the sides where yours are?
