PIE Adaptor install questions
#1
Hi folks,
I have my PIE adaptor but I am waiting until Santa brings me a Hurst shifter so I can install both at the same time. A couple questions.
Where did you locate the box with the RCA plugs? Did you screw it to something or is it just hanging loose behind the stereo somewhere?
Just to be sure, getting power from the cigarette lighter is the way to go, correct?
Has anyone run a splitter so that you can have two items plugged into the adaptor at the same time? I'm thinking of getting Sirius and it would be nice to be able to switch between that and my ipod without having to unplug anything. Is that even possible?
I plan on keeping both the Sirius radio and the ipod hidden in the console and powered by the console power plug. At some point, I may hardwire the sirius. Any tips for that?
Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

I wouldn't worry about waiting to install the shifter since removal of the console is a piece of cake. Removing the panel to get to the radio on the othe hand is a little trickier. I put the adapter box above the radio and I used some zip ties to hold it to the wires up there. I have yet to notice a rattling noise from it. The cigarette lighter is the way to go for power. Adding a splitter may introduce some noise, but I have not tried it. One word of advice though, make sure you have the ipod adapter with the updated chip from PIE for the mustang. Even if you do, the unit may lost recognition just once. Mine did, the day after it was installed. I called Victor at PIE and he said to disconnect the negative terminal on the batter for about a minute, and then connect it again. I have been iPodding trouble free since then!!!
