Painted Interior Components
Painted Interior Components
...okay so last spring, I painted my switch plates to match the rest of the IUP. Now I'm thinking about next springs project. I've seen on here where someone painted the center console and center dash the same color as their exterior (I believe it was Grabber Orange). Anyone know where that may be? Or anyone have their own pics??? Any color.
Check out the interior of this one.

Also do a search for the Medusa Maaco Mustang. They painted alot of the interior.

yea...Those are pretty cool. I have a perf white 06 gt with IUP. I was thinking about painting some componets white. Please keep the pictures coming everyone! I like the painted speaker rings. I didn't want to do it in silver but you may have just convinced me to do it in white.

These interiors all look great!
I had considered painting but was concerned about the durability of it for daily use. Did anyone use a clearcoat to help protect the paint, or does it hold up well on it's own?
Mine were painted like a bumper or any other exterior plastic part. Some paint promoter thing that helps paint stick to plastic, then paint, then clearcoated. My buddy does it at his shop for "lucky" me.
I do not have much knowledge in painting. I sanded my plastic parts with 1500 grit, primed, painted a few coats and then a few coats of clear coat.
The sterring whell pieces are not glued down so I can remove them if I ever get tired of them or if I need to drop the car off for repairs and not worry about someone scrathcing them up.

How do those streering wheel pieces come off?
I purchased the steering wheel pieces and painted them. They can be attached with double sided sticky tab. I put them on without the tape so I can remove them if I bring the car to a shop or something of that nature. That way I do not have to worry about someone scratching them.
I plan on doing something similar to this, but with gloss black and red accents
Plan on removing stock sub grill on door, but don't want to leave so exposed. I want to do a treatment like 'CO_VaporGT_09' has on his.
